Characters: Arthur and Professor Stein
Location: Professor Stein's Laboratory
Rating: PG-13, because it is Stein
Time: Day Two - Morning
Description: Stein has invited Arthur for a check-up, because he's like that. You know it's never innocent.
Stein had expected there to be some interesting additions with the new arrivals, but he couldn't have asked for more. Already, several of them showed a lot of promise - now if only he could find a way to study them without Spirit or one of the others on his back about it. Of couse, he did have much more important things to worry about, but he was never one known for reining his curiosity. The Death Scythe had several scars and mismatched organs to attest to that fact.
He sat at his desk, typing away as he collected his research notes, waiting for his guest to arrive. He'd left him directions on reaching the laboratory, and considering how few houses there were in that section of the city.
Then, the lab itself did stand out. It was a large grey stone building with two strange arrow-shaped roofs to it, with dark, black barred windows. There was no grass, and the garden was overgrown with black, gnarled arrow-shaped plants. Even the trees had triangle-tipped branches, shadowy and strange, even in the morning sunlight. There was a long black fence with a spiked top, the gate open and swaying squeakily in the breeze.
But how could one tell who lived there?
It might have something to do with the stitches. The very walls of the building looked to have been stitched together. The ground, the doors... everything had the same gruesome stitch-lines that covered Stein's body. Apparently, he was a little fond of the motif.
Then again, if his patient-to-be was scared away by the outward appearance, they probably wouldn't last long on the inside.
