[Germany, on the other hand, has been preparing for a couple of hours now, prodding Preußen incessantly to clean the house and getting Japan to help him with the Japanese side of the food. Since Suzaku is Japanese, he would probably appreciate it... Unfortunately, Germany only knows how to cook the barest of pasta, but hey, if it reminds him of good Romano days...?

Or something. Germany isn't very discerning, he just wishes to be efficiently kind for once.]

[When the knock comes, Germany is very pleased! Right on time, like a good soldier. He opens the door to Suzaku, still wearing his gigantic pink apron.]

Ah-- Kururugi. Good evening.

[To say it had been unexpected when Doitsu-san had asked him, earlier today, to help prepare dinner... He had become accustomed, in his relations with Western Nations at home, and even more while living with them here in Death City, to many of his foods being avoided by outsiders.

Though his acceptance would have come without question, that Doitsu-san was the type to provide explanations... Of course it made him more enthusiastic, that it was to be because his citizen would be joining them.

Even so, he had attempted to keep to recipes that would be palatable for Doitsu-san and Puroisen-san, as well.

Now, as Doitsu-san went to let in their guest, Japan looked over his shoulder from the stove.]

Welcome, please make yourself comfortable.

[the apron was… a bit of a surprise. still, all it changed in Suzaku’s reaction was a split-second hesitation and blank-faced blink, but then another voice-that was Japan, he vaguely recalled-floated over and broke him out of any trance he might’ve fallen into.]

Hello, Mr. Germany, Mr. Japan. [the apartment really smelled good… ahh, he should’ve brought something--!] Thank you for inviting me over; I’m glad it wasn’t any trouble.

[shaking hands would’ve been inappropriate, right? well- a bow, then, from the waist, even if that probably seemed out of place to the German. no matter - after he straightened up, he was subtly (not really) peeking through the doorway- he wanted to keep his mind away from the real reason of this dinner (say, Romano), and as long as he had something to look at, that was fairly easy. luckily, it didn’t seem like it’d be a problem here. of course he was feeling nervous about meeting face-to-face with his own country, on top of Germany. saying that he’d helped tear that Nation- both Nations, technically ( ( ... )

[Suzaku is a good soldierly boy. He truly is. Germany sort of would like him for himself, but eh, Japan is an ally. Good enough, good enough.

(And Germany does not mind Japanese food. They are sometimes bland for him, but they feel cleaner to this human body.)

He steps aside and back to give Suzaku space to get in, and leads the way to the living room (eight German steps).]

Please come in, and close the door behind you. We will be ready in approximately seven minutes. You may sit down and... [what was that?] Make yourself at home.
