It was kind of cute, that he was that frightened of what was obviously to come. In a way, it was almost flattering. Almost. From where she sat, she could see his pale human fists balled up, like he was angry or anxious about something, and his eyes darted about, preylike--a perfect opportunity.
And she was nothing if not an opportunist.
Of course, coming from the roofs, there was no way to go but down.
Time to drop in.

The temptation to run the rest of the way was enticing. His footwear at the moment would be substandard for that, though - these boots were not made for running. Neither was his outfit, really. He'd like to avoid sweating in it.
So, a quick and steady pace it was. He still kept an eye out, but at this point his fists clenched slightly less. Maybe he was just being paranoid. What kind of crazy idiot would stalk him on his way home, anyway?

His heart rate increased several-fold, and he barely had to take more than a second to weigh his options: fight, or flight? This was the most basic of biological responses, and he had only to chose. He'd been vaguely afraid that something like this might happen, after all, thus it didn't take him too long to chose his answer: flightHe spun around and ran down the street, back the way he'd came. He didn't care to remember another biological fact, that fleeing from a predator only encouraged a chase to occur sooner. He still sort of believed that maybe he was over-reacting. Maybe Vriska just wanted a polite chat - or as polite as bullies usually got, which usually included name-calling and taunting, maybe a bit of shoving. If he ran away, he could avoid this situation escalating further, either way ( ... )
