It was... interesting, to say the least, to be in a Japan he was most familiar and unfamiliar with. The language had been the same, but so many other things had been different that it was easy for Spitfire to disassociate himself from feeling like this was 'his Japan.' The familiarity of certain things struck faint chords inside him though, a small set of thoughts that reminded him every day that life here was his new and all too permanent life ( ... )

"Observation?" It was said a little dubiously as he raised a finger to his lips to think for a moment as he always seemed to do. Prince really wanted to just get it over with, dispatching the Kappa and then going home to get their payment for the mission.

"You're right, but we don't have a lot of time. We only have all of tonight and the early hours before dawn to deal with them before we have to go back."

If only it were a two-day mission, then he could understand dàgē's wish to study them and see their weak points and come up with a strategy on the first day, and do what they could to manage to finish the mission on the second.

With this time constraint of one night, it was going to be a bit different doing the observing in a couple of hours and doing the rest in the time left.

"I think we can only give ourselves a sort of time limit for observation, and then the rest for strategy and attack. So will we stake out an area along the river, dàgē?"

Ah, yes, the time constraints. He'd almost forgotten about that little stipulation. Letting his hands slide into his jacket's pockets, he mulled over the new consideration as well as Prince's suggestion.

It was unlikely that an hour or two's worth of observation would net them any new information. Most of the sightings, while brief, had at least given a very basic outline on the creature's behavioral patterns, as much of one as they would have gotten from watching it for a few hours.

"I'd almost forgotten," he admitted after a moment, glancing back toward Prince, "I suppose we'll have to go with Plan B."

"Plan B?"

Color Prince surprised -- and yet do his damnedest to try not to show it. Yeah, he's a little slow on the uptake for the moment, because he didn't know that they actually even had a secondary plan at all. Or was it something that they'd already talked about and he'd already forgotten?

"Did I miss something, dàgē? Because I don't think I quite understand what you mean, and if I did, would you please explain it to me?"
