Characters: Kanaya and Vriska Location: Clinic Rating: PG-13 Time: 10-14, afternoon Description: Kanaya is not pleased about Vriska going after a Kishin Egg on her own.
It was the middle of day. For Vriska, that meant, frankly, that she was supposed to be asleep. Normally that would have been waived under the circumstances, but pain and blood loss were an exhausting combination--topped with fury, frustration, and volatile, futile rage (not to mention that she hadn't been sleeping well prior to this anyway), she was about done. Once the commotion (and brief but pitched battle with the clinic staff) had died down, once Karkat had left her, taken her Egg, and had the gall to claim heroism on his part (amongst other things), she'd found that the bed and its lull of silence was, in fact, pretty inviting for once
( ... )
Kanaya, even when she's angry, is not one inclined to skip pleasantries. She goes over and sits in the chair by Vriska's bed, adjusting her clothes when she does.
"What do you think?" Vriska's voice was raw, but more hoarse from anger than pain. What was Kanaya doing here? Come to rub it in? No, of course not. That wasn't what Kanaya did. Kanaya bugged and fussed and meddled and interfered with everything that wasn't her business and ruined her own surprise.
At the moment, frankly, she was willing to note that Kanaya ruined a lot of things.
"I don't know. How serious are your injuries?" Kanaya is not a mind reader, and while she knows that Vriska's wounds must be serious else she wouldn't still be there, she doesn't know anything about them besides that. Why would she? She wasn't there to see anything, and nobody told her.
Vriska resisted the urge to groan in frustration and pain, turning her head so that she had a better view of her moirallegiac nuisance; Kanaya got the full glare of her sevenfold eye.
"How am I supposed to know what you do and don't know? You and Vantas are obviously in cahoots--for all I know, he told you--fuck, I don't know what he told you. Pick something. Anything." She bared her teeth. "I don't fucking care!"
