He was glad that Namatame had called him, and let him know to meet him at the entrance. Souji wasn't sure if this was closure, or if it was just reopening up an old wound. Whatever it was, it was going to be difficult, and he couldn't let anyone see him. Couldn't have anyone see how obsessed he was with it, how for him it wasn't over. Would never be over.

At least until he knew things back home were okay. To be pulled out of the middle of a fight made him feel like he had let everyone down. Like he was still letting people down now that he was here; he wasn't the other Souji, and he could still sense the secrets surrounding the other one.

"Hey. Thank you for letting me accompany you," He said softly, hands in his pockets. While he didn't smile as he came to the entrance, he nodded in greeting.

Namatame nodded back in response. "It's nothing to thank me for, really. You have as much right to be here as I do." Maybe more--he and those other kids had been the ones to stop the murderer, and before that they'd stopped Namatame himself and showed him the truth of what he'd been doing back in Inaba. Those kids had achieved more than he ever had in Inaba, and he couldn't be thankful enough for anything they'd done.

He looked up at the towering Shibusen architecture and the leering sun, knowing that at this point there was no turning back from what they were doing. "Come on," he said. "Let's go inside." And with that, he stepped forward and headed into the school.

So everyone says, Souji couldn't help but think sarcastically, even as he nodded. He didn't think he had much of a right to anything, here. He hadn't been here for all of this; the other him had. But he needed to stop dwelling on it, as he followed Namatame into the school.

"When I first arrived here," He started softly, a hand brushing his hair out of the way for a moment as they walked in. "I saw the caution tape on the pillars, and I thought I was still in his dungeon. I wonder how long that tape has been in the chamber."

"His dungeon?" The term brought to mind images of chains and torches, which seemed difficult to console with what he knew about the murderer--or indeed, anyone from the past century. And caution tape? He didn't know what that was supposed to mean. Maybe there'd been some when those bodies had been discovered, but...

He dropped that subject and continued on. "I think it was the same way when I got here a few months ago, though I don't know why it's on those things at all. In any case, it isn't much of a warning at this point, not when everybody comes in here."
