Seems like these two always run into each other like this. XD karmafree January 15 2011, 17:50:54 UTC
Miraculously, Mukuro was out and about rather early that morning. He had been struck with the odd need for a walk at such an hour, and he was, of course, indulging his whims even if he didn't fully understand them.

The events of the other day had been interesting to view on the network at first, but Mukuro's attention was a fickle thing. Now that it seemed to be over, it was business as usual for him.

There was something calming about walking around the streets when it was nearly devoid of all others. It was rare for him to take the opportunity to walk as he'd once done, but right now it was all he could think of doing to clear the thoughts brimming just beneath the surface.

Movement up ahead caught Sephiroth's attention. Flexing the wing on his shoulder, it relaxed once again when the ex-General caught sight of who it was. He hadn't seen Mukuro since their mission together, and while that thought didn't faze him one way or another, there wasn't a feeling of discontent at seeing the other either.

Sephiroth continued on. There was no doubt that the meister had a reason to be out, and besides that, the ex-General needed time to settle his thoughts.

Unfortunately, Mukuro had a bit of a sixth sense when it came to (opportunities to bug) friends, and it wasn't too long before he noticed the other, just as Sephiroth was moving off.

"Oya, oya~ you won't even bother to drop in and say hi?"

Sephiroth's retreat slowed to a stop when he heard Mukuro's call. Glancing back over towards the meister, the ex-General smirked subtly. "And here I thought that you were too busy with your thoughts," he silkily said while pushing away his own thoughts.

Of all the places, all the people to see, of course it had to be Sephiroth ( ... )

The thoughts were still tormenting his mind as he made his way down the street. In the back of his mind, there was the lingering thought that spending this time on a rooftop would be far more beneficial, but he wanted to move. There was no other way to dispel the building energy within if he remained in one place, and it was part of the reason why he'd left the apartment in the first place ( ... )

Was it the words dripping from his throat, the smirk or the eyes that made Zack want to deck him the most? Maybe it was all three, locked in a dead-heat race to the finish, if the "finish" in question was Zack's knuckles. He wasn't sure, didn't care, it was just the margin of self-control he gained since Hojo's experiments that kept him from going after him, even if he knew he couldn't win.

Impossible fights and stuff like that never stopped him before, so why should it now?

"Yeah, so I hear." Deep breath in, deep breath out. Cordial. Civil. Something. "They must not know you like the rest of us, huh?" And his fingers dug into the meat of his crossed arms, etched into his skin, fighting against a whole host of words, of phrases, of questions and reasons.

Instead, they flashed across his eyes, plain as day. Zack always had a crappy poker face.

Burn down any villages lately?

Kill any more flowergirls or was one enough?

Could I have done anything to stop this?

Just as he did in the past, Zack made it far too easy for him to use and manipulate the exposed emotions the SOLDIER had. In some ways, pulling Zack's strings as he desired was far too easy, but that didn't mean that there wasn't any enjoyment. The dark thrill he felt at hiding behind his mask once again was undeniable, and as he saw the unasked questions within that angered gaze, the ex-General chuckled lightly ( ... )
