Description: From the side of the victims, this is what happens.
It was turning out to be another cold day, owing to the dips in temperature that had begun not long after the kidnappings started. It might have been a week now, who knew? Many of Death City's ordinary citizens had died of the cold after their surgeries, not managing on top of their trauma.
The kidnapped guests of Death City were in a separate cell entirely, especially warded to deal with their pesky abilities. They might have noticed the corpses being carried away by the witch slaves past their cell, might have recognized the Death Robbin's owner or that nice nurse from the local hospital among the dead. Perhaps the shortening daylight and grey skies outside, the only source of light apart from the hallway, were a blessing. Less to see the ghastly scenery by.
The cells themselves were of a laboratory-like cleanliness and quality, and in better light it was mostly white and maybe colder. The guests were surrounded by narrowly situated bars on one side, a wall with small, high windows on the opposite side of the bars, and two blank, smooth walls in between.
The witches had sealed their meister and weapon abilities, and their ankles were chained to the walls. They were arranged there around that cell, with short distances keeping them from each other. The witches had underestimated their abilities and resourcefulness, but they had expected the experiments and the horror of the laboratories to keep the guests in their place. That, and some starvation, because these guests were sparingly fed and were often left to go thirsty.
Judging from the talk of the witches amidst the silence of the golems guarding them, the experiments were still going to go on for a long, long time.
