It seems that someone else had the same idea as Hisoka. With people running around left, right and center to look for the kidnap victims, Kuroro was now interested in seeing how the people who would rather stay at home base and leave the work to others were as people. He was interested to know if they were lounging about because they were cowards, or merely practical.

He walked in with an easy stride, and looked around with idle interest. Hisoka wasn't hard to spot. Kuroro considered his next moves -- sit with or not? No, it was better to sit with Hisoka. They could still observe the people around them (if indeed that was what Hisoka was doing), and still be able to talk properly.

He made his way over to the clown and sat down on the free armchair, stretching his legs under the table and crossing them at the ankles. "Mind if I sit with you?"

Hisoka had spotted the former Ryodan leader as soon as he'd stepped into the room from the corner of his eye. He smiled inwardly as Kuroro made his way over. Despite everything, he still can't resist... Hisoka mentally licked his lips. It was always interesting when the prey walked straight into the web.

His outward expression didn't change when Kuroro sat down - in fact, Hisoka didn't even bother looking up at him. There was no need to. Instead he finished the game he was playing. "It's always a pleasure to be in your company, Kuroro," he said, his lips curling up into a smile as he finally looked up at Kuroro lounging on the chair opposite.

It would have been the funniest time for a crass quip like, I know you can't get enough of me, but there was the matter of reputation and image to keep, and Kuroro was not often given to innuendo. Instead, he inclined his head to the side in a relaxed, close-eyed nod. Kuroro steepled his fingers over his chest, looking languid in his seat. He was wary of Hisoka, yes, but there was no reason to show it.

"It's been a while since I last saw you." Small talk. "Found anyone interesting here so far?"

Hisoka knew that Kuroro was still wary of him - the previous series of network posts was a pretty good indication of Kuroro's feelings. The whole affair amused Hisoka.

If Kuroro wanted to play this game, Hisoka was quite willing to oblige. He collected and shuffled the cards, laying them out again.

"Perhaps. Not much changes though, it seems." He smiled even wider.

"Sadly, it seems pretty boring here." He sighed in mock dejection. "What a pity."

Sora had been at something of a loss. She wanted to help out, but couldn't help feeling she'd just get more in the way--without even a weapon, she knew she wasn't really strong enough to do much good against most of what was happening. It was more than a little bit of a downer, but she had been trying hard not to let it get to her too much. The only solution was to keep training even harder, and start looking for a weapon again.

The generally tense atmosphere wasn't doing much to raise her spirits; everyone seemed so worried, and she wanted to be doing more to help. Which is why the sight of a man playing cards by himself in the common room actually made her smile and perk up again, drifting over to watch him curiously.

Hisoka noticed the female youth approaching him out of the corner of his eye. She had some muscle tone, so Hisoka surmised that she probably could throw a punch, however...

Pathetically weak...

She wasn't even worth bothering with. He continued his card game without looking up at her.

Sora, cheerfully oblivious to his appraisal and subsequent dismissal, watched with every sign of content enjoyment. It was nice to have something just cheerful to look at for a little while, even something as simple as watching someone else play a game.

"Are you winning?"

It was obvious to Hisoka that this girl was a naive optimist. Most people with enough sense would have steered clear of him because of the dangerous aura he exuded, but apparently it was ineffective on some people. Rejecting the desire to teach her a lesson, he merely made a non-commital sound before finally speaking, though he still did not look up at her.

"It's not about the winning, it's about the game," he said coolly.
