pure-lineage + YOU
Location: Library
Rating: PG
Time: 11th Sept, mid-morning
Description: A few days prior, he made a promise to Cloud, but he hasn't got the slightest clue as to how to go about it. Sephiroth heads to the library in an attempt to further his knowledge. Also, this is before he sees Roy's Network post!
(
The first time he was in a library, he burnt down an entire town after he left... )
He hadn't yet seen many other people, so stumbling over a large, silver-haired man had been the last thing he had really expected. Not sure of the man, and certainly having not yet met him, D kept held back at first, covertly admiring the other's animal-like grace and beauty from a distance. Eventually, though, he realized he would have to meander past the other at some point, and continued forward.
"Good morning," he said softly but cheerfully as he came closer, mindful of his voice in the midst of a library.

Casting him a true smile - one full of amusement and lacking in malice - D continued on. "So you cannot cook, is that it?" He glanced around. "We're in the 'how to' section, after all."
Now he was curious. It was the only thing, really, the man had reacted to, so it must be that. What sort of person couldn't cook by age ten? He was dying to find out.

He said nothing for a long while as he debated just what road he should take. There was something rather off-putting about this one, Sephiroth gained at least that much from the other, and yet he couldn't pull himself away. That hardly meant that he was impressed by the situation either...
"Why should it concern you to if I am able to do such a thing or not?" Sephiroth eventually asked.
Reply
"Is it such a crime for one to be curious about the people around him? Won't it be hard to survive here if you end up on your own, far away from Shibusen, and can't cook anything?
"But perhaps..." D trailed off, as though thinking something over. He was getting awfully bored. It wouldn't hurt him to help a human out with something as inconsequential as learning to feed himself. That, at least, wouldn't go against his and Sohki's plans.

The 'but' caused his brow to rise again in question. He didn't probe further for whatever it was this fool had attempted to say, but remained regarding him silently.

"I see," D said, eyes narrowed slightly as he re-evaluated Sephiroth. His tone was just as silky as the other's. "But you must have some kind of interest in it, or you wouldn't have reacted quite the way you did."
Reply
Unsure of just what to make of it all, his expression turned cautious while he regarded the other suspiciously. "I have my reasons."
Reply
This man was so vague. D admired that; he was far too used to humans all-too excited to let their stories spill out. A bit of mystery was a nice, if slightly infuriating, change. "I imagine so," D replied, "but you may have a hard time learning from a book. Cooking is one of those few things in life that is more easily learned from another."
Reply
Besides, cooking would hardly be as difficult to master as many of the feats he had in the past.
"You doubt my capabilities?" Sephiroth asked as he finally turned back around to face the Count.

(ooc: If that doesn't make sense, let me know. I'm all lskfa;ja over math atm and stringing together words is difficult.)

Pottery and painting were activities he'd never once partook in - unless painting a town in flames could be considered 'painting'. Sephiroth doubted it.
"There is nothing I cannot do," Sephiroth simply stated as the mako within his gaze blazed brightly in determination.
Reply
"So confident!" D exclaimed, clasping his hands together in front of him in excitement. "It makes me want to challenge you to see whether or not that's really true!"
Reply
Yet when he received such an excited reaction, he found himself momentarily off guard. He hadn't been expecting that, and for a single moment, Sephiroth's expression flickered with confusion before returning back to neutrality. "You dare to challenge me?"
Reply
The challenge seemed to keep the other interested, at least a little, and D decided to just go with it. He didn't think he was going to get his head taken off over this, at least.
He raised his eyebrow as if to say 'Weren't you listening?' and nodded, still smiling a little at him. "Yes, that's right. I challenged you. Is there something the matter?"
Reply
"There is nothing weong with my hearing," Sephiroth lowly warned before he took a step in towards the other man. His cat-like gaze never once left D's, and with a serious expression, the ex-General silkily murmured, "I will make you regret challenging me."
He couldn't attempt such a feat back in his own apartment, and he didn't wish for those who knew him to know his actions either. That only left one option. Sephiroth said nothing further as he took a step back and gestured for the other man to lead the way.
Reply
"We shall see, I suppose," D said, his tone implying the unsaid 'If you say so, but I don't believe you'. "At whose place would you prefer to do this?"
