Description: Merlin finds a lost creature in the middle of Shibusen, and it takes both his and Naruto's efforts to catch it.

It shouldn't be a shock, he figured, to walk down the street and hear somebody ( usually himself ) making noise ( of a much more reasonable volume ) about something. They were in the middle of a war weren't they? And hadn't that madness thing just happened a little while ago? It'd be a constant barrage of one thing after the other since arriving, and while Naruto wasn't typically one to complain about staying busy- after everything that'd happened, and the tension in his apartment that he'd had to all but crawl out of?

He needed a break. Even just a little one.

Which left the ninja on a rather innocuous evening stroll, an attempt to get fresh air, come back with a few packs of instant ramen and call it a night. At least, until one sight in particular utterly derailed him. W-what the hell? Naruto's gait paused, limp slowed to a halt as the blur of color raced down the street. What was that?

Merlin hadn't noticed Naruto - he was still too busy chasing after the chicken. It was still way ahead of him, running along the street on it's sticky little legs, clucking as it went. Then it suddenly swerved, ducking into a side alley.

Merlin scrambled to change direction, before picking up the pace again.

Just as quickly as the blob had passed, it swerved- and on the edge of his vision, the creature- it had to be a creature- bobbled around the corner, out of sight. Naruto's brows creased and his mouth open to protest, at least, until the other blur of color caught his attention. "Hey!" He knew that face from somewhere- and at the thought, the narrowing of his expression became a squint- he just couldn't figure out where.

"What're you doing?"

Merlin stopped running for a moment, panting. "The chicken!" he said, pointing. "I need to...catch it..."

Up in the distance, the chicken had also stopped running. It cocked it's head to the side and looked at Merlin and Naruto, watching.
