As always, the communicator came first, along with its manual and other accessories.
"There are other guests here that you can contact. You might even know some of them!" he said with a fair amount of cheerfulness. "Now, I and my colleagues will take you on a quick tour around Shibusen and the city proper, to take you to your new residences."
Rosa was not the most happy camper brought around this cycle. In fact, she was probably damn near the most irritated and cranky individual around if not just simply the most out of all previous cycles and this one combined. She huffed and puffed at every little thing and had to be reproached for her cussing and yelling on more than one occasion. She didn't seem to care. Or listen.
But then suddenly she was temporarily distracted. She was intrigued with this new little shiny. "What the hell is this supposed to be? Who the hell hands out hand-mirrors for free!?"
The power of shiny devices wasn't to be underestimated, yes. Asuza knew very well that there would be some guests who weren't used to the more advanced technology.
"It's not a simple hand-mirror. You use it to communicate with other people who have similar devices. Here, let me demonstrate." And Asuza was stepping forward and effortlessly pressing a button on the woman's open communicator, bringing up the function that showed posts from the network.
A simple hand-mirror would have been priceless enough. All this extra usability? Just made it all that more worth a pretty penny in Rosa's book. A thief's mind was always on money.
Her automatic reaction was to pull the object away when someone else reached for it, but as soon as the button was pressed and the communicator came to life she was once again too distracted to do much more than gape. She looked at it scrutinizingly, turning it this way and that way, and then stopping to stare at the vivid screen. "What is this--some sort of little magical trinket?"
Because why not. She'd never known of anything sort of anything that could something like this. It had to be magic then, right? But magic was a thing for little boys and girls, a story told by parents to scare their children or placate them before bed. Rosa wasn't into that sort of stuff. She never had any parents, didn't give a damn about any either. But this... she didn't know what to make of this.

Welcoming the new arrivals... This wasn't something Crona had needed to deal with before. Up until now, the new arrivals had just sort of... arrived and, you know, been around. And Crona had mostly avoided them. But it was becoming a little difficult to do that each time BREW brought a new wave of people through. It really was starting to feel like they were everywhere... And some of them looked really strange too.
There was no way this would end well at all; Crona didn't know how to deal with speaking in public, didn't know how to deliver information professionally to newcomers, didn't know how to complete a whole sentence without stuttering. And so, cue-cards had been thoughtfully provided by Shibusen's staff. Standing in the corridor, the awkward looking Meister held them nervously with both shaking hands while reading, eyes down and firmly focused on the words written on the cards.
"... S-S-Shibusen is... an o-organization and a s-school that trains m-m-meisters and weapons, as was mentioned when y-you were still in the chamber

The stuttering person looked as nervous as Mikado felt. While Mikado listened, for the first time, he was struck with how strange it must be for them to suddenly have strangers who were confused and angry pouring into their world. Could I be the one who looks strange to this person?
But training was a good thing. He could learn about his powers. He was completely unprepared otherwise, certainly not someone with any knowledge of how to fight, like some of the other new arrivals seemed to be. He was going to need all the help he could get.
"Um-- if we go, i-is there anywhere we should meet? What classroom...?"
Crona visibly jumped at someone actually asking a question; Crona didn't know how to deal with being asked questi--oh wait...
"Er..." There was a pause then and a quick shuffling through of cue-cards. Once the right cards were found the stuttered reading resumed. "...T-there are two class levels r-running side by side a-at present... O-one is the b-beginner level class and the other is for intermediate l-level class..." Again, cue-card change "... D-d-directions to the classrooms will...will be clearly marked and information on which classroom y-you need to go will b-be provided i-in advance..."
The cards were lowered before Crona shifted awkwardly again. Was that all this person needed to know? Or would a different card have answered the question better? Was there a need to ask if there were any more questions now? This was all so scary to Crona...
The first thing the newly-arrived guests might notice upon stepping out the school gates was that it's suddenly harder to breathe. Monster frog fart was extremely stinky, after all, and the smell was worse outside in the city. None of them would see Azusa reacting to the stench, however. Sheer force of will and discipline (or maybe because she just got used to it?)
"This is Death City," she announced while gesturing at the panoramic view with an arm. "It is a normal twenty-first century city with all the usual facilities and destinations, although some of you might need to take a while to get used to the technology and the decor. In a while we will take you down to see some of these facilities more closely, so if you have further questions about the school and the faculty, please state them now. Otherwise you may contact any of the faculty through our inboxesAnd then a beat, as she considered that maybe she should say something about the awful smell still hanging about the air: "We apologize for the poor quality of the air at the

...okay, that smell really was horrible, and Date had his fair share of experiences before this already. What in the world was that? It kind of... really smelled in a way that reminded him of something very very unpleasant - something Oshu really didn't have that all much, since most of the place was somewhat mountainous with not so very long summers and too long winters with harsh gales and freezing winds.
He listened to the woman (the same woman he had met when he arrived at this place) giving her explanation, keeping track of anything that was noteworthy before his mind stopped at one part. Did she just say it was the twenty-first century? Wouldn't that mean... nearly the year two thousand? That'd mean he was technically... a few hundred years into the future
( ... )
Hmm. Azusa really was starting to approve of this man more and more. He was attentive, and asked all the right questions a teacher would like to hear.
And he wasn't freaking out.
"Like I mentioned before - if you wish to learn more, yes, this is where you'll be attending the classes. We also hold training sessions in the gym, and assist in the morning training sessions being held in the outdoor obstacle course."
Freaking out wasn't something Date Masamune was going to do, even if he was feeling a little spooked about this sudden revelation of 'I'm in the future' - regardless of where (or when now, for that matter) he was, he was still here in the end, and that was what mattered the most.
"So it isn't compulsory then?" he inquired after a moment's debate. He still wasn't too sure about this whole thing, but he figured it'd be a good idea to have a better picture of this whole scenario before everything overwhelmed him. In a sense.

As the tour drew up to the plaza a fair way from Shibusen, they were met by a big blue-skinned man who stood in the sun waiting for them. Some of them might have noticed him earlier when they first arrived in the kishin chamber, but for those who hadn’t, a second glance would show that he appeared…dead. In fact, he had a hole in the front of his head showing through the bandana that was wrapped there.
He seemed friendly enough as they gathered around though. He held up a communicator-the same as the ones they’d each been given, though his looked like he’d had it a while-and spoke in a clear if somewhat gruff voice.
“Good afternoon, guests. If you would all please look at your communicators. This button here pulls up a map of the city. You can see where we are now

No matter how strange things were here, this guy had to be the king of weird. Even as he introduced them to the city, Yuffie couldn't help but stare at him with the slightest tilt of her head. In fact, she was so busy gawking at the blue guy that she didn't notice he had been finished talking.
"Uh..." was the intelligent response.
She was able to break from that spell long enough to straighten herself, hands on her hips in an attempt to look as tall and as tough as possible. "What are you?" Ever polite. At least she was straight to the point and honest, right? Not that it was always a good thing.
Direct and no-nonsense. Sid could appreciate that! It got the job done, and he liked effective tactics. That's the kind of man he was.
He was also the kind of man who would tactically choose to answer the exact question asked, whether or not that meant giving the answer that the questioner likely wanted to get. "I am a teacher at Shibusen! And when I was alive I was a Three Star meister!"
"That's not-!" When I was alive. When. What? Yuffie swallowed hard and took a hesitant step back. So much for acting tough and looking the part. A hand lifted to rub awkwardly at the back of her head while she looked away. Another one of Hojo's experiment-types? Even though this wasn't her Planet, it wasn't entirely impossible anymore.
But just looking at him, she did have to admit that he was a lot more friendly than she would expect any monster to be. "Er... you're... dead." Yep. Just stating a fact. After a second longer, she finally shrugged it off and kicked at the ground. "Hey, just don't try eating me or anything and we'll be okay."

[And at last the tour comes to an end as they arrive as the Casualty Communal. There to greet them are a couple people--one of them is a young blonde girl who steps up to greet them]
Welcome to Death City! My name is Liz Thompson and I am a student of Shibusen, and Weapon to the residing Shinigami. This [she indicates behind her towards the building] is the Casualty Communal where you will be housed. One you find a partner, should you choose to, the two of you will be moved to Death City Heights to better accommodate the both of you.
Now if you have any remaining questions regarding anything, please feel free to ask, if not lets go inside to get you registered, and your keys to your room.

If Spain had been drinking heavily last night, he might have attributed his current situation to a hangover. As it stood, he was not drinking at all previously, however that did not stop him from his severe hangover assumption.
He looked up at the building in front of him and then at the two at the head of the tour. He had so many questions to ask, so many things to learn about, so many unanswered mysteries!
He raised his hand, "Where can I find where you got that donut?"
"I'll check for you!" Patti nodded, eying the donut in her hand. She looked to her left and then her right. A glance upwards and a glance downwards. She even took off her hat, peering in for a good five seconds before putting it back on. "Okie dokie, I have an answer!"
She nodded, hands on hips and pointing a finger to the sky. You could almost see the tip of it reflecting in the moonlight. "The donut can be found in my hand!"
Spain's eyes followed the tip of Patti's finger, the moon reflecting splendiferously off of its tip. Momentarily distracted by something shiny and bright, he almost missed her response but snapped back into the conversation before he could.
He absorbed her completely unhelpful response. Perhaps she had another one but upon glancing into her other hand, he came to the sad realization that that was not the case. He wanted his own delicious donut and currently, he didn't know the first place to look for one! (Though, he did know a couple of places NOT to look for one as Patti had already checked up, down and in her hat.)
"Where can I get my own?" he asked with much passion in his tone.
