After years of being prompted to wake up in time for early mass and classes, Jules was an early riser. He was thankful for this perhaps for the first time when his noontime tea (a decent blend for once, thanks to the carnival's offerings) was interrupted by a loud noise just down the hallway. His first instinct was to stay put in case it was some sort of odd assault, but after a few minutes he decided that likely wasn't the case, seeing as it sounded like nothing more than simple construction.

Still, the noise was just a bit irritating, and Jules was actually very curious as to what might be being constructed so close to him. And so, after he had taken his time cleaning his teacup, he stepped into the hallway. For a few minutes, he watched the man in silence before beginning to wonder if it would be worth his while to say hello.

Shin was pretty engrossed in his work for a majority of those minutes, and it wasn't like Jules stampeded around like most of the Ein Family. He caught a glance at someone out of the corner of his eye as he reached for the screw driver and was caught a little off guard.

"What?" Shin frowned a bit. He didn't like being stared at.

"I'm sorry, please continue," Jules said; annoying as it was, having the project done quickly would probably be favorable to the other tenants. "I was wonder what that noise was. Are you a carpenter?"

"Oh, sorry about the racket. I didn't know how many people were on this floor." Shin relaxed a bit, Jules didn't make any kind of threats in his small talk, so it seemed doubtful that a fight was imminent.

"No, but it's the family trade, so it's something I grew up with." He explained. "It's easier to do it myself than wait for the building supervisor to get around to fixing it."

Kaworu was on his (admittedly slow) way down the stairs with a wry smile when he chanced upon the racket that was someone either constructing something or destroying something that he just had to stop at the fourth floor and wander over to the hallway.

By his understanding, there was no one he knew who lived on this floor. There was no harm in meeting one, though.

Curious. Repairs, then.

"Good morning," he greeted with a smile and a wave of his good, unwrapped arm.

"Morning," Shin looked up and gave this kid a polite nod. It'd been morning for him for a while, but he realized a little belatedly that not everyone was an early riser.

"Sorry about the noise," he added, the kid looked like he was a little worse for the wear, he might have been trying to rest.

"No, it's alright," he said, wandering closer to watch and observe his work. Someone seemed paranoid about their safety, though he didn't begrudge the man.

Kaworu was never allowed any privacy.

"I was up anyway. How long have you been at this?"

"Not long," Shin replied, he had the worst of the work done, everything was measured and now Shin was cutting out holes in the door jam for the locks to go into once they were on. That was slightly tedious work, chisel out a little more wood, try the little metal mount again, whiddle out a little more until it could be tapped in snugly and screwed in.

"It got too hot to keep walking around the city, so I thought I might as well get this done." He explained, pulling off the little plate that Noi had ripped though when she damaged his door. It didn't look salvageable, so it was tossed into the pile of paper packaging the locks all came in.
