The carnival had actually been a nice change of pace, odd creatures bereft of pants notwithstanding, even if Junpei only sat on the sidelines eating corn dogs most of the time. It wasn't as though he really knew anyone besides Minato and some of the people he had been keeping consistent contact with in DEMISE. Despite that, seeing Sakura made him stop and wave.

"Hey, Sakura-chan!"

Puzzled by the sudden call, she looked up, her expression blossoming into a smile as she recognized him. She waved back and approached.

"Junpei-sa --- I mean, Junpei-onii-chan! Hi!"

Junpei, naturally, didn't realize he was waving with the hand that was holding his half-eaten meal until he saw that the other hand was empty. He cleared his throat and tossed it in the garbage before smiling somewhat awkwardly.

"What's up? Y'having fun?"

She couldn't help the giggle that bubbled up at his predicament, though she scolded herself after. It wasn't nice to laugh at people like that.

Instead, she smiled back. "I am! What about you?"
