At the sound of her name, Winry paused and turned around. When she saw Riza she stopped for a moment, her brain not quite processing what she was seeing. When it finally caught up her expression became cheery. She had always been rather fond of the Lieutenant ever since she met her all those years ago. She was a strong woman, with goals that knew how to get them done and did them. She always wished she had more opportunities to talk to her.

The cheer disappeared as quickly as it had come, however, when she saw the amount of blood on her and she nearly dropped the box of supplies she was carrying. She fumbled to catch it and then stared for a moment more before just. Putting the box down to the side.

"Lieutenant what on Earth happened?!"

What it really that bad? She almost glanced down at her shirt; she thought black would hide most of the stains...apparently not.

"Run-in with the enemy back in our world," she heard herself say. "It really isn't as bad as it looks..."

But the more she said that, the more it sounded like an excuse.

There were a lot of things going through Winry's head right now. There was still the surprise of suddenly seeing Riza here, she must have just recently arrived if she was banged up like that, nor could Winry ever recall her speaking over the network.

There were hybrid feelings of happiness and disdain over BREW having brought yet another person from their world, one who would both be a pleasure to be around and a help towards the effort, yet one who did not deserve to be dragged from her home.

Above everything, however, she narrowed in on that injury.

"Here, let me take a look at it and properly patch it." She gestured for her to follow.

That no-nonsense tone--how often she herself had used it. She almost smiled, but hid it by nodding her head and following Winry.

"I didn't expect we would meet here in this place," Riza said, and by place she meant Death City. "It's been...several years, has it not."

Other questions were in her mind, but she gently pushed them down for the moment. They could come later.
