If the Meister and Weapon both agree to such a situation, I don't believe it should matter what the standard is...

In my own case, I'm relatively certain my Weapon would never allow me another, and I don't particularly care for the idea of her in another's hands outside of necessity either- though simply because I wouldn't trust any other Meister with her. But I'm confident we could interchange with one other pair on a temporary basis comfortably as an exception to that rule.

[he lifts his eyebrows, interested, but maintains a neutral expression.]

I see. And what if you were injured? Would you rather she stayed with you, or temporarily worked with someone else for the sake of completing missions? A weapon can still get stronger with others if they earn themselves more souls, but is it worth it?

[He half-smiles, amused by the consideration] I don't believe that would be an issue. She's the type that would worry too much to leave.

However, in theory if she really wanted to continue missions while I was incapacitated, I'd want to make sure it was someone I could trust with her. As I mentioned, those are few in number, and only one comes to mind immediately.

Would you worry about being left without your partner? That witches have attacked the city before, after all.

[ Hey, Sara. Long time no see. Remember last time and almost dying? Yeah.

Kurt's answer to the question is pretty simple, though. ]

I would personally only use a Weapon other than my partner if given no other choice, and they weren't around. Partners shouldn't be treated as last season's fashions, out with the old and in with the new.

[yeah, he remembers. he's still feeling that broken collarbone too, even if the bandages are off by now.]

That sounds rather wasteful, even when just applied to clothing.

It can be. I tend to reuse my clothes from season to season, just using them in different combinations, but... [ That's so not the point. ] I guess, if something works there's no reason to move on to something else.

When you put it like that, it sounds more about laziness than anything. What about loyalty?

Forgive me, that sort of thing isn't really acceptable where I come from, so perhaps it's just a cultural difference.

I would be okay with my team using me. And if I was injured and he needed to fight, I would understand if Gaara needed to use someone else. Fighting with others does not mean that he will stop being my partner.

What counts as "needing to fight", though? An attack where he might need to defend himself, or something as simple as a voluntary mission? And in the event of something like an attack, is it fine to be left alone while you're incapacitated so your partner can fight?

Missions are important. They help us keep people safe. Though I do not think that he would be willing to work with another weapon if it was not to protect the city. [Understatement of the year, there.]

If it was an attack, I would not like being unable to fight. But I know that he is strong, and that we would have a better chance of winning if he was fighting.

Are you willing to sacrifice your personal safety for the city, then?

I would not allow anyone else to wield Lee.

What about Tenten? Or Neji?

[A brief pause.] Only if it were absolutely necessary.

You're my partner. Why would anyone else need to wield you?

If something happened. Or if Tenten was training you.

Someone else wielding me would not make me not your partner.
