[The TARDIS is sitting in her human body, various types of food seen at the edge of the screen. Currently she's sniffing a carrot and regarding it as if it might bite her nose for trying such a thing. Suddenly she seemed to remember that she had turned on the screen.]

Oh, it's on! What's that word? Never mind. I have a question! Can anyone tell me ( Read more... )

Ah! Ma'am! Maybe you shouldn't eat that!

[She had it partway to her mouth and stopped,]

Oh? I'm still rather new at this!

[ how curious. ]

You think it might be your name, but you're not sure? I can't say I've ever heard that as a name myself.

It is what my Thief calls- called- me sometimes. Quite a lot actually. I don't know what else my name might be, and it seems like that could cause trouble. I think I like it! [She proudly straightens a bit at that last sentence. It did make her feel rather empowered.]

Your thief?

[ He laughs. ]

Most people wouldn't appreciate being called that, but if he called you "Sexy," then perhaps he might not mind. I suppose the question is: do you mind others calling you it?

Well, he is My Thief! He stole me, and I stole him! And if not Sexy, what would they call me?

You'll want to cut that pineapple open before you eat it.

[Dryly, and someone paying attention might notice a slight British accent. Mello has seen this person on the network before, and can't help but be curious about her. She definitely seems unused to being human, and while that's not terribly unusual in Death City, most of the residents in that condition don't appear human.

'Temporal' is another thing that piques his interest.]

Offline? You had access to something to do with time?

Oh, is that how that works? [Rustling, the sound of a drawer opening and closing, and then the satisfying chop of a knife cutting through something.] Fantastic!

Quite a bit of access, since I mostly run- ran off energy of the time vortex. Which is- was? was. in my head, well I didn't have a head, and it's not like it was just in me, since it was around me, so I am- was in it. [She's slowly growing more and more frustrated as she stumbles to explain.] It's actually getting hard to remember just what it is like! With all this room you think I could hold onto a bit of the time vortex.

Oh, but that never went offline. That can't go offline. Not unless the universe is collapsing on itself, oh, and killing a few species we met as well, and probably more. But Temporal Grace was a system that rendered all weapons inside of me ineffectual. I can't be perfect though! I ought to have retired, but, oh, I could never resist and adventure!

[This doesn't make a lot of sense, but Mello prides himself on being able to pick out the useful words and phrases from nonsense.

In this case, though, so much of it is nonsense to him that he recognizes he needs context.]

What are you?

Don't mess about with tenses; those aren't important here. Just tell me.

[Even though she says she's not a robot, there's a hint of that sort of mechanical sound to her voice.] Time And Relative Dimension In Space.

[And now we return you to a normal human voice:] A TARDIS. I travel. THrough time. And Space.

Why make this private?

[...Good thing somebody stopped her.]

Perhaps it would be best if you learn how to cook first, madam.

Cook? [She thinks for a moment.] Oh, yes! What's the name of that place that people cook in? Kiiii- kiiii... Oh, my thief never used to use it when he was younger. Liked those meal pills better. Practical sort back then. Lazy sort now. Never seen him make his own meal. Could be why I have no idea. Care to show me?

A kitchen. No, I do not mind showing you, in fact.

If it wasn't before, it certainly is, now. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a name.

People always seem so surprised when I say it, and someone did say that it could be considered inappropriate.

Only because it can be an oddly personal term.

But if that's your name, then whoever gave it to you must care for you a lot, so why not just use it?

[She looks a little surprised, a little amused, a little proud, and very in love. Oh, yes, not only does he care for her, but she cares for him.] I think I will.
