A white-haired man with some bizarre device on his face has a seat on the sofa, yet another cup of coffee in hand. He glances at the communicator, takes a sip, and sighs. When you don't know what path to take, you keep on walking for the ( Read more... )

[She meant to hit voice, but whatever. Have a girl staring blindly (literally) at you]

Are you a philosopher or something? [Because that's what it sounds like]

All men have the beauty of words and thoughts at their disposal-- but only a select few choose to make the most of them.

Take that as a yes. I've heard DeathBucks is good for getting coffee, though I drink tea so don't take my word for it.

[As if to prove a point, she reaches for her cup, getting it with no problems]

DeathBucks. Sounds like prize tokens at a cut-rate amusement park.

It's Godot. Just Godot.

Try Deathbucks. They've got a decent selection.

Ultimately you will. I hope you'll find something you like.

Ha...! No need for hope. If I don't, I'll make my own.

[All that coffee sure looks good.]

I had that problem when I first got here with the last batch as well. The grocery store has a lot of different varieties of coffee and since we don't have to pay for anything there, you can bring different kinds home to try and see if you like them. The Deathbucks brand is alright to start with though.

Free groceries? Ha...! Sounds a little too good to be true. Though I suppose the "unwilling war draftee" thing has something to do with it.

Do they have raw beans?

I'm pretty sure they do, though you'd have to get a job or go on a mission to get the money to get your own grinder for them. They take pretty good care of us, all things considered, but that doesn't mean it makes everybody happy.

Ha...! I can crush the beans in my teeth if I have to!

I haven't tried Deathbucks' coffee, nor do I ever plan to, but judging by the quality of their tea you have no reason to go there.

Regardless, getting yourself oriented may not be as easy as you think, sir.

Really, now? Everyone else has at least suggested it's worth a sip.

You think so?

[pause] Well, if your only concern is finding suitable coffee, you might have an simpler time than most. And if Deathbucks has managed to create something that meets everyone's expectations for coffee, it might just be a case of different standards.

Let's just say that I probably have higher standards than most, though every hot cup is worth a sip. That's a rule to live by.
