☿ 02 [Video]

Jun 12, 2011 21:21

[Contrary to his normal calm, polite demeanor, Amiti seems to be a bit perturbed as he appears on the screen. Behind him, the TV is blaring and the computer seems to be on a screen saver.]

I do not know how these moving pictures of light appeared, but they have not given out yet. It is becoming quite irritating. Is there a way to put them out?

There should be a button for the television-- do you see anything that looks like...

[Give him a second, annnnd there we go! He's holding up a control.] This?

[He looks at it for a moment.]

That does look familiar...

[Excuse the short travel as he goes to a table and grabs it from amongst other things.]

Is this the same object?

[Nods!]

It is! [He points at the power button on it] If you hit this button, it will turn off!

[He studies the remote for a second before hitting it with his free hand. He stares at the now dark screen in interest.]

This device is very remarkable!

I am not a Fire Adept.

[Because he should totally understand that even though Amiti knows he's not from his world.]

Oh. Well then, that's too bad. [ He doesn't understand, but he had a gist of it, sort of. And he's going to play along for now. ] Maybe you could kill it with another element, then?

I am afraid my Psynergy does not work here. Would water have been effective?

Has anyone else helped you? I know these machines can be confusing if you're not used to them.

The larger one was explained to me. I do not under the other however.

[He looks back toward the computer.]

Well, the smaller one is called a computer, and it's a little more complicated to shut off than the larger one, which is called a television, because it's not good for it if you just hit the power button for it to turn it off. But near the computer you should see something with a bunch of buttons with letters and other symbols on it. That's called a keyboard. If you hit one of the keys, it should change what's being displayed back to the main view.

This object that looks similar to our communication devices?

[He hits a button at random and looks a bit surprised as the desktop appears.]

What purpose do they have?

I recommend pulling the power cords out and never touching them again.

Power cords? What are those?

[A slightly exasperated sigh.]

The cable running between the machines and the wall. Disconnect it on both ends.

[The image moves as he walks over to the wall and inspects the cable for a few moments.]

I should cut this, then?
