[Roughly at noon, the image of a slightly eerie-looking youth garbed like a priest flickers onto the network. Some might recognize him as Justin Law, one of the Death Scythes of Shibusen.]

[The message transmitted is a mix of Video and Text. All that can be seen or heard is Justin's unblinking stare, the sound of Techno pumping from his earphones at ( Read more... )

Shibusen will be deliberating the matter over the course of the next twenty-four hours. It remains at question whether or not they pose a security risk severe enough to make their release a serious problem.

In any case the ringleader is in no state to cause any harm at this time. They may, however, have more "brothers" currently unaccounted for.

They don't have any other brothers, so you shouldn't concern yourself with that.

They are troublesome children making idle threats. They need a strong hand and probably nothing more.

If a strong hand is sufficient then the matter has been resolved.

[He switches to a Private filter. This seems to be someone who is actually in the know.]

I am nonetheless concerned. Not for Shibusen, but for Death City's residents. Kadaj has made a lot of threats and been quite clear about his intentions to gain power by any means necessary. Even if that means joining the enemy.

Despite his claims, Shibusen does not hide anything about the nature of the war. My main concern regards what will happen when he learns of the Kishin. Neither Shibusen nor the Watch can be everywhere at once. We don't need another Adachi.

How likely is it that he would murder humans?

You went after that guy, didn't you?

[A beat, and then she's grinning.]

Good.

Ah, Miss Albarn.

[He smiles quite innocently.]

Now, would I do something like that~?

[The answer is yes.]

Because you were as pissed as I was. Because he threatened Kid. And you. And me. And Papa.

[Her grin morphs into a smirk.]

Because he deserved it.

Pissed? Not at all. [His expression blanks over quite innocuously.] But he did pose a potential risk.

...And perhaps he deserved it. [He closes his eyes and fiddles with one of his earphones, even if there is the tiniest trace of a smile at the corner of his lips.]

It was quite surprising. I did not expect someone with a soul so tainted by insanity to be capable of resonance. [Actually the whole fight was quite enlightening.]

( well...it was a pretty well contained explosion. no doubts here~ )

Will I be able to sleep in my room tonight? It's next to the one that went boom.

There shouldn't be any further difficulties. Very little damage spread to the adjoining apartments.

I apologize for the inconvenience nonetheless.

[He bows his head respectfully.]

Oh good! ( a little clap, clap from her. )

Don't worry about it. Things happen~ ( she's utterly unconcerned, comes from being from a bloody time period probably. )

[He smiles cheerfully before typing away.]

Thank you for being understanding. Some people find it difficult to adjust to Death City's ways.

Though I do promise that nocturnal explosions in Guest residences will not be a common occurrence.

[...unless a certain someone didn't learn their lesson.]

Death Scythe Business.

[And then he sets the filter to Private. Since this one has demonstrated the ability to learn and ask relevant questions. A rare quality. One to encourage.]

There was a potential security risk to Master Shinigami and Death City as a whole. After dealing with the likes of Adachi and Jonathan Crane in the past, I felt it pertinent to resolve the matter decisively.

What are you talking about? Is this about that Kadaj guy?

[...]

Did you kill him?

[His expression is carefully blank.]

Not quite.

[Far too injured for any of the Guest medics, though.]

You could have taken him out of the building first before mauling him.

[His face blanches for a second - hocrap Miss Azusa before relaxing into an easy smile.]

Ah, but Miss Azusa... he was already waiting for me, and he had a Weapon. [He shrugs, as if the matter was completely out of his hands.] Once shots were fired, what was I supposed to do?

[He ponders.] I was surprised an inexperienced soul damaged by insanity could resonate at all...

Inexperienced or not, if a soul has a wavelength to match its own, it can resonate. Regardless of insanity. [something he knows well.]

So, who's going to put the Communal back together?

The task should qualify as a service to the community. The ones who damaged it should be the ones to help fix it.

[SHE'S LOOKING AT YOU TOO, JUSTIN.]
