What do we actually know about BREW? I ask as a concerned citizen.

If they don't tighten security after this, they're even bigger idiots than I've been assuming.

It is a weapon; I am unaware of any more than that.

( but he comments because he wants to know as well. )

Not a very good one. It leaves all the work to other people.

It's a Demon Tool.

I've heard Weapons called demons here, too, but I haven't seen anything to back it up. Not in the way my world defines it.

I didn't say it was a Weapon. It could probably be used as one, but not the way people are.

I know you didn't; one thing I'm interested in is how it got to be on the side of Shibusen. One would think it would be in favour of chaos.

It's that Demon Tool that Shinigami-sama, Kid-kun used which bought us here. That's what Misa was told.

Do you believe it?

Well if it's not true I don't see how all this could have happned otherwise?

Given that a world like this, different from where most of us came from, can co-exist with all of ours at all, there could be any number of ways to pull people in.

[She speaks as if she's reciting the answer out of a book.]

BREW is one of the demon tools created by Eibon, one of the eight warriors that followed the previous Shinigami. It has the power to realize the desires of its current user.

In other words, it grants wishes.

It has a design flaw, though. It can only do one wish at once.

What are the other tools?

It's an object that grants wishes. [Repeating herself for emphasis.] That's like a miracle in and of itself. It's not an endless wish fountain.

[If that were true, the war would NOT still be going on.]

He made a bunch of stuff, and only the late Shinigami-sama knew what they were. [And he's dead. So yeah.]

I don't believe in miracles, and I've seen weirder objects.

What is there to be concerned about? A-All it does is bring more of us here, right?

It drags people from their worlds, apparently at random, and holds them hostage until a condition is met. You call this 'all'?

I'm not trying to imply that it's a small thing that it does; it isn't. It takes everyone from home, away from those they care about, and brings them here to fight a war. That's really wrong, and I think everyone knows that. [ At least one would hope. ]

I said 'all' because- Well, I don't think it's able to do anything else other than that.

It would depend on the wish, wouldn't it.
