Given that a world like this, different from where most of us came from, can co-exist with all of ours at all, there could be any number of ways to pull people in.

BREW is one of the demon tools created by Eibon, one of the eight warriors that followed the previous Shinigami. It has the power to realize the desires of its current user.

In other words, it grants wishes.

I'm not trying to imply that it's a small thing that it does; it isn't. It takes everyone from home, away from those they care about, and brings them here to fight a war. That's really wrong, and I think everyone knows that. [ At least one would hope. ]

I said 'all' because- Well, I don't think it's able to do anything else other than that.
