Occasionally I'll wonder if BREW has its own sort of intelligence, bringing in reinforcements after suffering a number of losses. A new flood of guests isn't particularly balanced, but it's a curiousity regardless.

[A pause as he glances somewhere off-screen, listening for something before returning his attention to the device]At any rate, I've ( Read more... )

It's definitely intelligent, even if we can't comprehend its motives.

[At Neji's next words, surprise flickers over Gaara's mostly blank expression.]

You and Lain? [A brief, awkward pause.] Congratulations.

It seems that way.

[Blink, frown]
Yes, thank you.

Thank you, Gaara-sama.

[She looks a little embarrassed]

Bold was pushing for it, and I'm grateful that Neji-niisan agreed.

Maybe we can work together too now--um, all of us.

[Now that the surprise has worn off, his face relaxes into a slight smile. Neji and Lain. He wouldn't have expected it, but in a strange way, it fits.]

Yes. I'd like that.

Does he know how to use your Weapon form?

If there are any patterns, they're obfuscated with too much irrelevant data.

I don't doubt there's a guiding hand behind what BREW does, though.

Sounds like you've been here a while. What have you observed?

For some time, I suppose, though I can't say I've seen anything that's much more noteworthy. If it takes wishes so literally, I can only imagine it sends reinforcements as either it or the 'wish' itself perceives.

It was also in accordance with the latest attack to Death City that set us back. It could be some reason for the flood of guests as well, although other influx periods mirror a similar behavior in terms of numbers.

And it can only do one thing at a time.

It always brings more people in as a reaction to an attack, then? That would make sense, although I feel it could be choosier in its unwilling recruits.

[ooc: sorry so slow! storms killed my internet until today.]

Thank you, Roy-san. I don't think she'll be joining the Watch presently, however.

[A pause, obviously deliberating something] ...Do you know if it'd be possible to switch to first shift at some point? Or perhaps work out something.

Lain has those mental resistance training classes everyday at 7pm and I'd like to go with her at least occasionally if possible.

That's understandable.

[Blinks. First shift, huh?]

I'll try and find somebody to replace you as soon as possible, so that you can switch over.
