I do not suppose there are records on how often attacks seem to happen, or what tactics the Witches tend to use?

We've been getting attacks at least once a month now. It's become a lot more frequent than in the earlier stages of the war. [frown]

As for the witches... they're usually a chaotic bunch, but they were never upfront with Shibusen's headquarters before. See, when we had the Shinigami, it was a much stronger fort. They'd usually go for the weaker bases all over the world -- they still are -- and leave Death City alone. Right now, they're taking advantage of our weaknesses.

[Ah...] Witches have animal affinities that manifest in their magic. For example! Eruka is a frog witch, so she made the frogs that attacked the city in the past. Medusa is the snake witch and an enemy of Shibusen for a while now. She... likes experimenting. She's not like the other witches.

Snakes seem to lead to people being different and experimenting in my world. It is interesting that we would have that in common. I take it the animals cannot be swayed from working with the witches, turned to the other side?

The Shinigami -- Death -- was the previous head of Shibusen! [points up] He'd been fueling the barrier that protected the city, but he died last... year. I was his weapon.

[Ah--] It depends on the familiar. The witches seem to be able to generate their own, like releasing small bits of their soul! I don't think you'd be able to thwart those. But the animals that they just persuaded to help them, we can probably do something about that.
