I think that is the most important thing, yes. I was rather surprised to see such a festival as tonight's being practiced, but I feel it was alleviating for many and hope that both they and their departed feel better for it.
I believe that those who die, particularly if they are our ancestors, remain with us. Their duty is to guard us, as our duty is to remember them for as long as we can, until they are able to move on.
