From those in my acquaintance who have been sent home and back, it would appear to be entirely individual, whether or not one retains one's memories of this place. There have been those to come back with all memories intact, and others who have returned with no knowledge of their past experience here.

Although it is always difficult to know there is someone you won't see in the future, I wouldn't choose to lose my memories.
