[He's been trying to hide his PTSD, and now its come to bite him back in the ass. Memories of his time in Michigan play over and over in his head, he recalls the most about the time when Crane used that fear gas on him, making him remember nothing but red and blood and dead dead everywhere.

Dead. Death. He's in Death City. Everything's dead dead dead--

Phoenix's too panicked now, too stuck in his own head to register what Watson is saying, and he's only staring and trembling and still breathing rapidly because he's scared and horrified and so, so traumatized and it finally shows.]

[Watson is oddly calm about this, almost eerily so. He shakes Phoenix's shoulder and repeats his instructions. And then he reaches over and pulls him to a sitting position. Watson has very strong arms.]

...so, eventually, she's going to be stumbling into your room, completely out of breath and wide-eyed at the appearence of the place. It looks like a hurricane hit it, really, which was pretty odd considering that most hospitals she's been to have been sparkly and clean -- of course, it WAS an SOS signal she heard, so...]
