[The sound of the child's voice coming through the audio feed was, for lack of better words, snotty . The poor Earl was suffering with a rather nasty cold. His little chest was crackling, smothered breathing from behind his handkerchief so that his rattling cough didn't sound as bad as it was.] It has come to my attention that people around here ( Read more... )

The stupid colonies fought a war so they wouldn't have to respect peerage. I doubt you'll be able to make them start again.

And why is it exactly, that you doubt me young Lady?

Because I've been here for months, and nobody cares about your daddy's position in the court at home.

And by nobody, you mean whom exactly? I've seen no sufficient evidence to suggest that you're someone of any importance.

Your view point can therefore be rendered, null and void as far as I am concerned.

[Another muffled cough. Please don't rile him up too much Rhode! he might have an asthma attack.]

Oh, hush. This place's complete lack of interest in social status is perhaps its most novel quality. Change that, and it'll just become boring.

For one, its rude to silence someone when they are merely stating their view point.

[A stuck up little snort sound. He's looking you over on the video, yet he's not switching from voice!]

And second of all, please explain what is boring about it? I find that rather hard to digest.

It's not "silencing", just a phrase. Please don't think me so impolite that I'd tell a stranger to shut up.

[Look all you want, eat your heart out.]

It'll become just like home, and having lived there for seventeen years, I can't really complain about having something new for a little while. I still need to return home of course, but there's no reason not to enjoy something so different while I can.

Well then, I for one and glad you cleared that up.

[Oh he is, he's frowning too. ]

I highly doubt, that unless I am given the position I require, that it will not at all become like home. You actually enjoy being here? ... well.

Since we're all trapped here, it means that we're all equal. And...social status doesn't matter that much in today's society.

Today's society?

[A sigh ... this is his point exactly!]

Excuse me then, for having good old fashioned views and standards.

But there is nothing wrong with that! There's nothing wrong with having old fashioned standards...at least, I don't think so. It's just...

Its just what exactly?

You're surely in no condition to speak about a society with no apparent class system in that state.

Even if you were, you do not deserve any respect unless you have done something that deserves recognition; certainly, you are very much alone in this noble charade of yours.

I beg your pardon?

[Your straight talking gains you some, if little, respect in Ciel's mind. Though he feels the need to put you straight.]

I shall have you know that back in my time, I am one, if not thee most important member of an organization that her Majesty The Queen Victoria relies on. As well as the Heir to the noble family Phantomhive.

And yes, I am currently alone in my endeavour and frankly speaking that's a crying shame!

That disguise is a thin one. Though you have not shown your face, I can tell by your slightly labored breathing that you are not in a good condition which explains your question about your butler rather neatly.

As for your title, I'm surprised that you think it means anything here. I was well-known as the Young Noble of Fury in my home land, but people respected me for my beliefs and my crusade for the common folk.

If you're as intelligent as you're noble, you should keep in mind that scarcely anyone here will recognize or even know what you're talking about. Otherwise, it's a crying shame that you think that you're more deserving of anything than anyone else here.

I wear no disguise, I am proud to be know for whom I am. The Earl Ciel Phantomhive. You're observant enough to notice that perhaps I am not exactly in tip-top physical condition at the present. But I assure you my mind is in strong and healthy form.

[And a grumble ... yes, he's not very well at all and struggling to look after himself without his butler. He's only a child! Cut him some slack!]

However, I do not expect people to recognize me, other than people drawn here from my own time, as I know very well there are a few of them. As for myself thinking I should deserve special treatment while here ... is that really too much to ask for? After all, we're all drawn here to fight, the least they could do is make this town as much like home for its population as they can.

You sound like an intelligent and respectable person, you of all people I would have expected would wish to discuss the matter of this towns lack of social order with me.

No one with half a brain cares about that kind of junk. If you think social class is the most important thing, you've got problems that rank isn't gonna fix.

[voice] rowdy_count November 4 2010, 18:42:57 UTC
When exactly did I state it was the most important thing? You've misheard me, judged my on your mistaken findings and now you're accusing me of being unintelligent?

How rude.

You're the one going on about how people not giving social class the time of a day is a something that has to be 'rectified', Lord Snooty. I think it's great that nobody cares! At least we don't get idiots who think their rank'll save them from fighting or having to be decent people.

[You're a rather annoying person.]

Clearly its a waste of my precious time, trying to reason with the likes of you.
