You'll have to forgive me if that doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. [It was usually my fault? Perhaps not the wisest of confessions. Still, he doesn't want to sound rude, or as if he were implying that Yuna was incapable of taking care of herself.]

Do me a favour, and try to keep to well-populated areas, and within sight of others. Evidently you can look after yourself and have ample experience at escaping, but... a couple of days ago my own student was abducted. I wouldn't say she was the best swordswoman [the word still felt strange] in the world, but the girl knew enough to stay safe. [And she isn't.]

[Yuna nods her head. He sounds serious, and she doesn't want to give him the impression that she doesn't take him seriously. She never goes looking for trouble, it just seems to find her. But still, being taken by the witches sounds far more dangerous than the Al Bhed taking her so that Wakka would throw a Blitzball game.]

I promise I'll be careful. I'll already have someone else with my a my Watch Shift, too, so I won't be alone. I won't let you down.

[Her expression falters a bit.] Oh, your student? I'm sorry, that's terrible. I had no idea.

[He nods in turn. Though, it wasn't during her shift that he was worried concerned about, but the times where she wouldn't have somebody watching her back. As long as she was vigilant, though... it was supposedly different when people knew what to watch for, or at least that's what Vergil's mind told him.]

She'll be alright. She's persistent, enough to survive at least until Shibusen knows where to mount a rescue operation. [The beginnings of that smirk creep back.] Those who took her may not be so fortunate, because you can be sure that I'll be involved in that.

[Yuna's expression turns from concerned and sympathetic to instantly serious, her lips pressed together.] I hope they find out where they are being taken to soon. For her sake and the rest of those who were taken.

[It had sounded like many had been kidnapped, not just an individual here and there. It was important to rescue them, no matter how many, though some of those people kidnapped were probably not even a part of the war. It was cruel, and cruelty was one of the few things that Yuna couldn't forgive.]

It's only a matter of time. Shibusen has a number of people who are quite skilled at tracking and gathering intelligence. The most we can do for now, I think, is try our best to ensure that no additional abductions take place. People are wary now, at least, and hopefully taking heed of the warnings to travel with others.

[He flicks an assessing glance at the remains of the former sand creature.] It may dissuade these a little, if nothing else. I'm not sure how effective conventional weapons would be against the things. [He makes a small sound of amusement.] I'll have to find out next time I have the opportunity.
