Weapons are people who can physically change their shape and literally turn into a weapon of some kind, though it doesn't necessarily have to be a conventional weapon like a sword or gun.

The ones who wield the Weapons are their Meisters, to put it simply.

Not all Meisters have the ability to see souls; it tends to be a rarer skill. The man who led you on the tour wasn't able to see them, so wouldn't have been able to say.

-- well, everyone's soul is a little bit different. Mostly they look round... like an orb, you could say. The color and general feel depends on the person themselves.
