We aim to have a sound body and sound mind in shibusen. Why is that? As the monkey student explained, "you can't have a good soul unless you've got a good mind and body". Without it, your soul becomes lost, and it is much easier to fall into a state of madness or become a kishin.

First off, madness is the "disease" of a soul. It is a contagious disease that destroys the mind to the point where you lose all of your senses. You literally become mad. Having a strong heart and courage gives you a stronger resistance to this madness.

When your soul has become so corrupt, you start to desire to eat pure, human souls. Once this happens, you end up becoming a kishin, the epitome of madness.

More often than we would like. As of recent, it has been steadily increasing which is why Shibusen is trying it's best to stop it from spreading.

[raises hand though it might not be seen :(]

How do people become mad to begin with? Is it just because of a lack of a stable soul?
