[The amount of people being sent home recently made her wonder...]

Do people who are returned by BREW always forget everything that happened here when they go back?

I know people sometimes remember things when they’re brought back to this world, but if they aren’t...[She looks away for a moment.] ...if BREW doesn’t bring them back, do they really ( Read more... )

I know that when England was here, he remembered everything, or so I think.

Then again, that was because he had come back here. I am not sure if BREW means to let us keep them if we are to return back here, or if it decides if we are able to remember them or not regardless of sending us back from whence we came...

But I would have to say that it is a rather disheartening idea to have that happen.

[It just would be cruel, he thinks, if he wouldn't be able to remember having Toph as his partner, and meeting everyone else in this world for that matter.]

[She blinked. Was that a dragon? It wasn't so much that she'd never seen one, but this was definitely her first time talking with one and maybe if she weren't so bothered by this she might have been a little excited.]

It is. There are a lot of people and things I don't want to forget.

Likewise, I have met a good number of people here that I would not wish to forget. There are those that have gone whom have touched my life in a positive manner, and while I do miss them I would rather keep their memories instead of being an ingrate and forget about them.

Despite those thoughts, there really is nothing that we can do about it, can we? At least say, influence BREW to let us keep them?

I'm not even sure if it's even possible to influence it.

[But there is the shadow of a smile on her face, small and tired, but never the less genuine.]

It would be terrible of us to just forget, wouldn't it? No matter what the reason.

I've actually thought about this before. [ With all the loss she experienced here, it's only inevitable. Taking in a deep breath, she exhales before speaking up again. ]

But, I'd like to think that even if we come from different time lines or worlds that our memories here still remain, even if we can't recall them. [ There's a soft smile. ] In that way, I don't believe people truly forget. [ Optimism is important, after all. She probably wouldn't be functioning the same without it. ]

[...optimism was something she forgot to hold onto sometimes, but all it takes is a reminder to bring it back.

Even if they forget, their hearts would still remember. Because bonds like that aren't so easily broken.

She smiled faintly and a little tiredly.]

...thank you. I think...I needed to hear that.

[ She looks almost relieved at seeing the other girl smile, despite how tired it seemed. ]

Of course! ... there's no need to thank me, though. [ Some light laughter, though she does appear almost sheepish. ]

I think there is. [She needed the reminder sometimes that she shouldn't lose hope so easily.]

I don't think we've met before. My name's Aqua.

Did you lose a friend of yours?

I did. And friends of people I know we're sent back recently too.

[Though she couldn't say that was her only reason for asking, even though it was definitely what got her started thinking about this.]

Mn- [ his hand reaches up, and he scratches at one marked cheek while he speaks ]

I think- I think maybe it depends on the person.

...I'd like to think at too.

[A pause, then...]

I haven't spoken to you in a while. How have you been?

Oh, I am just fine. What about you? You seem to be troubled.

It's nothing. I'll be fine.

[Her smile is a bit strained, and not very reassuring.]

I- haven't really thought about it. I don't see why we would forget, though.
