makin' shit up, aw yeeeah meowgeneticist November 1 2011, 17:10:17 UTC
[whatever John felt about the place, Rose enjoyed Death By Pastry quite a bit. it was very relaxing to grab a tart and coffee and just watch the people outside rush past.

unfortunately today seemed to be some kind of mad rush for pastry; after battling her way to the front of the line Rose turns to find that all of the tables are taken. siiiigh. time to at least attempt to be social and crash at someone else's table]

Do you mind? I'll only be a moment. [but she's sitting down anyway. fuck ya'll she's not going to stand and finish her macchiato]

fuck now i'm hungry, thanks arachnida November 1 2011, 18:20:00 UTC
[Vriska wasn't usually one for large crowds after living on her own for six sweeps. It was always so jarring to find hordes of humans and other species scrambling about looking for one thing or another. On the one hand, it was easier to avoid certain people in these large crowds. On the other, it made it difficult to be the center of attention.

But she wasn't going for that right now. She was sat in a corner, chin propped up on one hand, staring blankly out the window (because really, what more could a dead-chick do than stare blankly?). Her god tier outfit had been forsaken, a certain someone's coat still draped over her shoulders. She had only come in here to get out of the cold, having no interest in death by pastry.

And then her train of thought was broken by a certain hero of light. Her voice promptly drips with overwrought sarcasm.]

Woooooooow, just the human I was looking for.

I'm unbearably glad that I could help shorten your dire search, although I should hope that even without my magnanimous speeding up of the quest you could have located me on your own. [she daintily smooths out a napkin onto her lap, tone equal measures sardonic and blithe]

It isn't as if this is a large city, after all.

sobbing, getting a bagel would mean changing out of pajamas and its cold... arachnida November 1 2011, 18:39:16 UTC
No duh.

[Her eyes fall to Rose's meal and weighs the pro's and con's of either knocking it over or stealing a bite. Small price to pay for stealing the available seat at her table that nobody was going to sit at anyway, right?]

Jeez, couldn't you have picked a different table? I'm practically choking on my own delight, here.

obvious answer: don't change and run fast. meowgeneticist November 1 2011, 18:41:47 UTC
I seriously considered it, but given the fact that I've technically never made your acquaintance I thought that the risk was outweighed by the benefits. Fear not, I'll be certain to give all cursory attempts at resuscitation should you swoon from oversaturation of joy. [she primly begins cutting her tart. mess with this indulgence and she'll dump her macchiato in your lap, girl.]

[Still weighing pros and cons over here.]

I was planning on keeping it that way. You're kinda ruining the mystery, here.

see? totally doable. meowgeneticist November 1 2011, 18:52:55 UTC
You're a bit too late to the party for there to be any real mystery, I'm afraid. I'm already cognizant of what a troll looks like, and as such you can offer me very few surprises.

Look at me, drowning in despair. Are you proud of yourself?

[Awkward.]

Perpetually. Do try and push your head towards air, though; it would be such a shame for you to perish before taking in all the lovely sights this universe has to offer. [an eyebrow raise over her coffee]

Oh yeah, can't have that or anything. Whew! I don't know what I would do without your words of encouragement.

[You just earned a nice chunk of missing tart, Rose. This here thief is going to be trying to swipe a piece of that.]

Likely something along the lines of bouncing off walls and ingesting harmful chemicals that haven't been put upon the higher shelves.

[jabbing at the hand with her fork. buy your own, this is hers.]

I was thinking more along the lines of having more spongecells to make use of, but you know, whatever!

[Not having her manipulation powers or player powers is so annoying. But two can play at that game! Rose's fork, meet Vriska's fork. She's getting a piece of that tart if it kills her.]

Expanded mental capacity is of no use if the recipient still cannot utilize it fully.

[is this going to be a duel? then bring. it. on. Rose might not be the bladekind wielder here, but she knows a thing or two about jabbing pointy shit. and like hell she's giving up her tart.]

[Vriska has the advantage here if only thanks to her dicekind being so versatile in the weapons it gives her. But it won't mean much if she can't parry Rose long enough to swipe with her other hand.]

Couldn't hear you over the sound of your droning!

[Rose of course has pigheaded determination and her secret weapon on her side. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT]

Ah, yes. I thought that perhaps my choice of words might be too much for you to process, but I had hoped that by eliminating most of the larger possibilities you'd be able to infer the ones I left in through the sentence's context. My mistake.
