The city has been suffering from a lot of invasions from their enemies lately, and these attacks more often than not deal damage to the city, ranging from small things like potholes on the road, to bigger things like the entire church burning down or an entire street gouged up something cruel. Shibusen has a reliable and fast construction and city repair team, but even if things often look brand new, there will always be evidence of previous damages through the town. Unfortunately for Death the Kid, the city has started to become more and more patchy and non-symmetrical lately. Due to recent deaths in the local population, there are also some abandoned buildings and homes littering the city.

0. Deathbucks and DeathDonald's Chains - How did these get everywhere? Don't you hate how those weird franchises monopolize your city...? At least a Death Burger and Death Latte are pretty cheap... There are also small neighborhood grocery stores and markets near these locations, usually just a block away.

[ SHIBUSEN ]

Shibusen - The Shibusen Technical Institute, also known as the Death Weapon and Meister Academy, is the main headquarters of operations for Shibusen and is located at the center-most and highest point of Death City. It is the school where the world's heroes come from, as it is in charge of training all young meisters and weapons to be a part of Shibusen's force in the future. The guests will be overly familiar with Shibusen and its staff in the coming weeks and months, and you might as well know about its facilities.

Shibusen has many floors, rooms, and offices. The guests are allowed to use Shibusen's vast library, indoor gym (with training weapons), and outside training facilities (fashioned after a small forest) if they wish to. Outside Shibusen is an incredibly long staircase leading to the city proper. The view is pretty nice. [*]

There are student dorms available for Shibusen's resident students, as well as Death the Kid and the professors' offices. These offices are open to anyone at all times, though please try to set an appointment to make sure someone is in when you come. There is also a room called the Shinigami room at the very top, which serves as the mirror room for traveling and a graveyard for special souls. The basement is a winding maze of dungeons and dark, scary places, so please try to stay out of there.

[ Guest Businesses ]

A - B - C - D - E - These are the buildings scattered through the map that have been reserved for the guests who wish to try their hand at establishing a business in Death City. These buildings are three floors tall by three units each, all units facing the same direction. Inquire with the board if you wish to own one of these units. Make sure to check them out, because there are some very interesting stores out there!

[ Apartments for Rent ]

Murder Manor, Tartarus Terraces, Filthy Flats, Reaper Residences, Limbo Lodge - These are apartments for rent that are available to the guests. There are choices between two-bedroom and single-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom apartments cost D$600 a month, while the single-bedroom apartments cost D$400 a month.

[ Shopping District - Inner Yellow Quarter ]

1. Holocaust Mall - The place to go for all your basic needs. Here you will find a grocery store - Don't worry, Death City has the same food as any modern day city - as well as a bunch of twenty-four hour convenience stores nearby. You will also find a small hardware store and Death City General Store. Any items you purchase in this area will be covered by Shibusen, provided that they're reasonably priced, so you will not be eating like every other starving student.

2. Death By Pastry - With all the new faces, there are bound to be some new relationships formed. And where better to take them than a romantic cafe, with those adorable tables for two? Freshly baked treats are made by the hour, and at a reasonable price so as not to hurt your boyfriend's wallet.

3. Mortician's Touch - Sid-sensei is the only person in Death City that needs to look like a zombie. The Beauty Salon will cover all of your aesthetic needs - including perfectly symmetrical haircuts. Make sure to book in advance, or you might be out of luck.

4. Corpse Bros. Cinema - When you live in a city straight from a horror film, there may not seem like there's any need for entertainment - but even the moon's bloody grin can get old after a while. The cinema changes films every two weeks, and they have a large scale arcade to help pass the time as you wait for the next showing.

5. Death's Best Friend Pet Store - It can be a little lonely in a world that isn't yours, especially if your friends haven't been dragged along. Maybe it's time to pick up a pet? Dogs, cats, birds, fish, and a various assortment of toys and care supplies - but unless your name is Blair, don't confuse it with the grocery story.

6. Papercut Books & Antiquities - It's a bookstore and antiques store in one, full of expensive and old, dusty items that may be of some value to you. The selection of books is wide-ranged for a store so small, and if you ask, they'll also import books you want that they don't have.

*The streets are the patchiest here, like people are always having to lay down new cobblestone to repair the old.

[ Entertainment / Red Light District - Inner Orange Quarter ]

1. Cabaret Host Club - Also known as the Chupa♥Cabra. The favourite hangout of the Death Scythe. A shady little cafe where a number of gorgeous women will keep you company for a nominal fee. Decked out in purple velvet and modern glass furniture, it may not be the classiest of establishments, but you'll certainly get your money's worth.

2. Danse Macabre - The number one hot spot on Saturday nights. If you're looking for a break from studying and a place to just let loose, this is your number one choice. Expect loud music, a lot of lights, and perhaps more than a little underage drinking - not the Death City has a legal drinking age.

3. Bitch's Brew Bar - A quieter environment than the club, for the person who wants to kick back and drink a few beers with their friends. They serve some snack foods, and have cheap night every Wednesday. Many a test has been failed thanks to this place.

4. Bare-it-all Strip club - There is very little explanation needed for this, really. A club, strippers - use your imagination.

5. Love Hotel - Not the most romantic hotel, but it's a good place to take your special someone when you don't have the best intentions in mind. Covered with hearts and Pepto-Bismol pink, we don't recommend taking someone here on your first date.

[ Financial and Service District - Inner Teal Quarter ]

1. World Bank - For those who decide to join the working force, you'll want to open an account at the bank. This is the main monetary management system in the city, and you will likely need to visit them at least once during your stay. They also offer safety deposit boxes for storing important or valuable belongings, however, we ask that you not store living weapons - it has happened before.

2. Death City General Hospital - For those not daring enough to ask Doctor Stein for medical advice, there is a hospital. It's been working overtime since the war started, however, for problems that are too large for Shibusen's dispensary to handle, this is the place to go. Beds are limited, so please only visit us in case of emergency.

3. Employment and Real Estate Office - After BREW brought the first wave of newcomers to the city, this office has been almost completely revamped. With the sudden influx of people, new job positions had to be found, as well as homes. This office is directly linked to Shibusen. They house the job postings board, as well as a catalogue of recent home listings.

4. Recreational Center - As Death City is in the middle of the desert, you won't find a ice skating rink here; however, they do have a large public swimming pool. They also have a tennis court, a basketball court, and various exercise equipment for the truly ambitious.

5. Dorsia - The best restaurant in the city. Don't expect to eat there unless you book months in advance. Even Death Scythe can't get a table on short notice. It is Dorsia after all.

6. Death Robbins - Need to satisfy your sweet tooth? Look no farther than Death Robbins. They have eighty-eight flavours of ice cream, as per Shinigami-sama's orders. Don't worry - they have old classics, like chocolate and vanilla, to new favourites like 'Deathberry Ripple.' The previous owner of Death Robbins died from a witch kidnapping and experimentation lately, although the management is bravely carrying on the business. But if they appear like they're mourning, that's why!

7. Beetle Juice - Feeling thirsty after working off that sinful Deathberry Ripple at the gym? Reward yourself with an expensive, but nutritious juice from Death City's most prestigious juicebar!

[ Inner City Residential District - Inner Magenta Quarter ]

1. Execution Mansion - Home of Death the Kid, son of the late Shinigami-sama, and his two weapons, the Thompson sisters. The house is recognizable by its towering three storeys and its impeccable sense of bilateral symmetry. It is surrounded by a seven foot wrought iron gate, however, Kid's unrivaled handgun skills are enough of a deterrent to would-be thieves.

2. Fatality Condominiums - A number of high-price condominiums; most notably, the residence of the reigning Death Scythe, Spirit Albarn. These homes are not available to just anyone - they are in demand, and will cost an arm and a leg in fees. However, to those lucky few that can afford the 5,000$D/month rent, expect to live in the best accommodations that Death City can offer.

3. Deadly Pretty Maid Cafe - If you need more than just pastry, but don't want to go to the red light district, this is the place for you. Fresh made pastries and drinks with adorable service (and short skirts)! Just remember - no touching the goods. Shares the same building as the butler cafe.

3. Bloody Butler Cafe - Same idea as the maid cafe, only you're being served by a bunch of handsome guys in suits. There are many personalities from their line-up to choose from! Shares the same building as the maid cafe.

[ Outer Residential Quarter One - Outer Aqua Quarter ]

CC1. Casualty Communal - Where those who have just arrived will be living for the time being. Each person has been given a studio apartment to themselves, including various furniture and utilities. A convenience store is found down the block. For more information, please look at the FAQ.

1. Horrorspital - A clinic manned by the guests for the guests. It's a moderate-sized, barn-like structure from the outside, but it's pretty comfortable inside. It's a very short walk from the Communal!

2. Maka and Soul's home - Maka Albarn and Soul's shared apartment. They also house Blair, the magical witch-like cat. Beware of Maka Chops.

3. Basketball Court - One of the favoured hangouts for Shibusen students - a great place to blow off some steam and shoot a couple hoops.

Zone 3 - This zone resulted from an earlier witch raid that filled it with bad energy and a lot of madness wavelength. Shibusen has recently managed to clean those out, although right now the zones are filled with debris that Shibusen is cleaning up and rebuilding.

[ Outer Residential Quarter Two - Outer Peach Quarter ]

DCH. Death City Heights - A townhouse complex set aside for new arrivals who have found a partner. These homes have more space, so that Weapons and Meisters may live together and strengthen their bonds and resonance. For more information on these facilities, please look at the FAQ.

CC2. Creeping Crypts - Where those who have just arrived will be living for the time being. Each person has been given a studio apartment to themselves, including various furniture and utilities. There's a convenience store easily accessible down the street. For more information, please look at the FAQ.

1. Beetle Juice - Feeling thirsty after working off that sinful Deathberry Ripple at the gym? Reward yourself with an expensive, but nutritious juice from Death City's most prestigious juicebar!

2. Football Field - A field. For playing football.

3. Black Star and Tsubaki's home - A one floor home shared by Meister Black Star and his Weapon, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa. You likely won't get within ten feet of the property without Black Star announcing his presence.

4. Diner - A make-shift restaurant created from an abandoned building. As the Commons created for the visitors were not meant to be dormitories, they have nothing in place for a cafeteria. This restaurant is Shibusen's attempt to make up for that fact, and anyone who is not of Death City may eat there, free of charge, so long as they present their Shibusen communicator.

[ Outer Quarter - Outer Pink Quarter ]

1. Patchwerk Laboratory - Doctor Franken Stein's personal laboratory and home. A rather eerie looking stone building covered in his signature surgical staples. Possibly one of the creepiest places in the city, it's not recommended you go there without a locked scalpel-proof vest on you at all times.

Zone One - This zone resulted from an earlier witch raid that filled it with bad energy and a lot of madness wavelength. Shibusen has recently managed to clean those out, although right now the zones are filled with debris that Shibusen is cleaning up and rebuilding.

Zone Four - This zone resulted from an earlier witch raid that filled it with bad energy and a lot of madness wavelength. Shibusen has recently managed to clean those out, although right now the zones are filled with debris that Shibusen is cleaning up and rebuilding.

[ Outer Residential Quarter Three - Outer Yellow Quarter ]

1. Shibusen City Park - A large park with trees and large expanses of grass. It's a great place to spend time with friends, walk the dog, or even plan a picnic. The park also serves as the largest recreational facility in Death City. It has a multipurpose court, a swimming pool at the far end, and a natural hot springs beside it (see: #3).

Training activities for the guests happen here every morning, from 6am to 9am. A large area has been set aside for this purpose, with a lot of clearings and an obstacle course.

2. Church - As it sounds, a large stone church. Death City has no set religion, however, so it seems to be fairly open-minded. The original church was burnt down by one of the guests before, so don't be alarmed if you spot some charred beams here and there. The new one is pretty sound!

3. Shibusen Hot Springs - No city would be complete without an area where women and men can hang around each other naked. Death City's hot springs are a great place to relax and take a load off after a hard day's training - and to peep at your partner while they are attempting to do the same.

Zone Two - This zone resulted from an earlier witch raid that filled it with bad energy and a lot of madness wavelength. Shibusen has recently managed to clean those out, although right now the zones are filled with debris that Shibusen is cleaning up and rebuilding.
