[underspinning]

[ At a loud thud and the sound of screeching, Tenten's alert mind quickly overlooked the entire forest. A herd of Kinshin eggs continued to rush away from the location, but one exceptionally angry screech remained. When the Kishin eggs were far enough away, Tenten's sharp eye quickly saw the kishin fell for their crude pitfall. With the monster struggling to get out of the hole, Tenten quickly tapped Santana to grab her attention. ]

Santana-! Hey! We got one!

[underspinning]

[ And then she sees the soul and sneers. She just begins to whisper to Santana, as if the soul could hear. ] That does look fucking weird. [ and it's about to get weirder. ] You're supposed to eat it, by the way.

[Santana jumped when Tenten got up, but recovered quickly, bracing herself to support her if she had to.]

So do you, you were the one with a tooth in your fucking foot. [She rolled her eyes at her, and looked at the...soul thingy.] Yeah, I know. Stay here, don't move.

[She had to get down in the pit to retrieve it, and she climbed down into the pit without taking her eyes off her. Reluctantly, she turned her head to get to the soul, and gripped it between her thumb and forefinger. She felt like she had to be careful with it, even though she knew it was silly. Living in Death City had desensitized her to the point where this was the first time she considered this whole "easting souls" thing out of the ordinary. Whatever. It couldn't be worse than Jagerbombs.

Santana put the ball to her lips and swallowed it whole. It was followed by a single cough, but all things considered, it wasn't terrible.]

Alright, I'm coming back up.

[underspinning]

[ Tenten just watches as she binds her foot. It's a bit tight, but that will help stop the blood flow. ]

Ugh, if it was going to bite me the least it could have done is brushed. [ If you want to bite her, you better have like that lady from Orbit Gum tier teeth.

She does observe Santana's hesitation but she just assumes it tastes bad. With the terrible taste, and Santana's statement, Tenten figures it's a perfect time for a very dry remark. ]

The soul's coming back up? I don't think it's healthy to puke it back up, but, to hell if I know anything about how it tastes. [ She reaches out a sturdy hand. It's the least she can do. She doesn't want to be leaving Santana in a pit fall with a decaying Kishin carcass. That'd just be rude. ]

[Fear flashed across her face again.] What do you mean? It is infected? [No, Santana, that's dumb, it wouldn't set in this quickly even if it were. She realized that immediately after, and climbed out of the hole.]

Ha ha. We should go back.

[She put Tenten's arm around her shoulder, smiling despite herself. She might be used to fighting things and having to narrowly escape death, but Santana wasn't. Fear kept her going when her friend was bitten, but now it was gone, replaced with a strong rush of joyful relief. They would both be okay, she wasn't (too far) in over her head after all.

But that didn't mean she was going to let Tenten hurt her foot more by walking on her own.]

[underspinning]

[ Tenten giggles at the little amount of time it took for Santana to register the joke. She does mirror Santana's gesture and drapes her arm over her similarly. She does know that Santana isn't used to this stuff but she did an excellent job on the first day all things considered. This was one of the toughest missions Tenten's ever been on, but she won't quite reveal that now.

With a giggle and a spring in her step, she nods. ]

As I'll ever be. You were really great out here today. [ It's at this moment where Tenten's one arm turns into a brief, yet friendly embrace. She thinks Santana isn't a very huggy type of person so she decided to execute this hug promptly and suddenly. ] Thank you for saving my life, Santana. I definitely owe you one.

[Santana giggles with her, and puts her trademarked smug smile on her face. She doesn't sound as smug as she looks though, her voice
breathy and ecstatic.] Yeah, we kicked ass.

[She does hugs. Sometimes. It turns out, smashing a Kishin egg for the first time and coming out with your life is one of those times. Santana is more than receptive, and squeezes her tight.]

Damn, how mushy do you want to be? It's not like I could have let you die, it'd leave me right open.

[underspinning]

[ Tenten's voice sounds breathless but never the less excited, and definitely relieved. She didn't become Kishin meat, and that was a good reason as any to celebrate. ] Back home, I can definitely picture you becoming a revered kunoichi!

[ Just this icon. Except Santana is in her arms! And she's seventeen and not thirteen like this icon from a flashback episode. ]

Tch. This isn't half of the gratitude I'm going to give you when we're back at Death City. [ She nearly says the word home but she does quickly change her tune. ] I'm sure you can out speed a Kishin anyways. It's not like I'd just be standing there. [ She'd box the hell out of him, as futile as it may be! ]

[Santana really didn't need the ego boost right now, considering that she was on top of the world, but if she had to keep going...]

What, are you throwing a party?

[underspinning]

[ Tenten already threw a party and she didn't really want to repeat themes so quickly. But she does seriously consider it for a moment. ]

Maybe. I was thinking more of a girls night or something with a bunch of us. Like one of those slumber party type of things. [ Tenten never had one but there's a first time for everything, right? ]

[Santana grunts and readjusts the two of them, but still laughs.]

With who?

[underspinning]

[ And now Tenten will begin to walk at a pace that hopefully doesn't disrupt Santana. ]

Lain, Jade, Nepeta, Kaoru, Sakura, and maybe some others. Admittedly, I haven't given it much thought, but if there's anyone you'd be interested in having over you can definitely suggest it!

There's gonna have to be alcohol.

Alcohol? [ Well, she doesn't particularly object but.... ] How am I supposed to obtain that?!

I don't know, but if you don't, it sounds like you're inviting me to a Disney Channel show.

All right. I'll see what I can do. A kunoichi isn't worth much if she can't secretly obtain some drinks. [ SHE JUST WANTS TO PLEASE YOU SANTANA.... ] Any particular type you like?
