It takes balance, and the right movements. See the way they aren't walking on the ice, they are pushing themselves across it.

Well, the blades are flat on the bottom, not sharp, so instead of cutting they slide.

[Zelos laughed a little at Ram's enthusiasm.] Looks like right over there. [He pointed to a small stand nearby the edge of the ice rink.

[Ram tried to do as he has been told, and managed to get next to Zelos without falling and, much to his surprise, pretty quickly. He hold onto the rail for support as well, just in case.]

The other people make it look so easy.

Yes, they do, but once you get the hang of it is a lot easier. Now to move forward keep one foot down and push on the ice with the other, like this.

[Zelos took a few short glides, putting him about five feet from Ram.]

You try.

[He waited, one hand on the rail and the other hand out, encouraging Ram to come to him.]

[Ram hold onto the rail for a bit longer until he was sure that he was not going to lose his balance. And then he finally let go, taking a step forward. And tripping.]

[With a quick movement Zelos reaches Ram before the program can fall too far, catching him easily enough.]
