Re: KISHIN CHAMBER [Open to New guests + NPCs + Volunteers] leaf_of_light August 20 2011, 19:52:32 UTC
[Kei touches his communicator] [Observing the object with attention]

[Oh, good, this man was offering to answer his question]

Can you tell me about the strategies of attacks and defenses? Also if possible could you give more information about what we are exactly up against? What are the enemy tactics?

[finally, someone who was actually on his wavelength when it came to fighting! Karkat spoke up.We're up against Witches, who are almost stupidly powerful and hard to kill. You aren't going to be able to take one on for awhile, and that's not a fucking challenge -- you literally can't do anything to them yet, so don't go strapping on your hero pants and marching out of the city first thing! They have minions, I guess you could call them, called Kinshin Eggs, which are bad but not as tough in a fight if you're ready for them ( ... )

Hum... very interesting. [He considers the information given] Is there a recording of the type of illusions? How do they affect you? By eye contact? Proximity?

What about the strategies used so far? Any attempts of advance or just defense strategies?

Powers are different from witch to witch, that's why I said you should watch one for awhile before trying to engage it. Like some can combine their attacks to be stronger, or use the madness wavelength to fuck with your head before you can even get close.

Spirit, the red-haired guy you just saw, has killed a witch before. Same with Dr. Stein, Maka and Soul, Azusa, Justin... I forget who else. My team in Arizona ran into one, but we had rookies with us and had to retreat.

[also they were getting their asses handed to them with all the trimmings, but like hell Karkat would admit that.]

But that's the advanced shit. First, you need to get used to the way combat works here. You're a Weapon or a Meister, and whichever one you are, you need to partner up with the other and learn how to tolerate them before you even take on the lesser monsters around here.

Hum, so thus why calling people here. The strategy is trying to train teams and win with numbers. [Not bad strategy, although a slow one]

It was a good judgment of you, better retreat and re-group than simply losing numbers. [Smiles]

[And at least he had experience of pairing up, lot's of it] You were very helpful, I'll keep your experience in mind.

Now, I assume there is someone in charge of identifying us later on this tour, correct?

[Karkat doesn't smile back, but he gives Kei a brief nod.]

That's what the Soul Perception line is for. [indicates] That way. If you're a Meister, you'll need to learn whatever power came with it, and if you're a Weapon, you have to figure out your form and how to change into it before you'll be useful to anybody.

[a pause]

And if you're going to training, it starts at six every morning in the park.

[No problem, he is used to have a grumpy guy around him]

Thank you, I am guessing I should start to know what I am.

Although, I am kind of curious now regarding what type of training you do, is it physical? Martial arts? Yoga?

[and Karkat's finally getting used to people looking past the grumpy. oh well.]

Basically everything -- traditional techniques with swords and shit, martial arts, target practice, whatever people need. BREW drags in assholes from all kinds of worlds, so we have people who teach everything from basic blade-swinging for dumb wigglers all the way up to goddamn ninja masters. And I mean that literally, there are ninjas all over the place.

Hum... but what use would that be for a weapon?

Look, you seem to have a modicum of actual competence when it comes to fighting and strategy, don't ruin your first impression already. Seriously, think about it. What if you need to defend yourself? Or, even if you have a partner, what if you get separated during an attack?

Death City's pretty well-defended, but we've still had Kinshin Eggs break through in groups before. Shit, take a walk around the place; you'll see how badly they fucked us up last time. We're still rebuilding.

[Oh, it seemed like he had misunderstood it?]

So... [Clears throat]

By training you meant then it's a self-defense training in case of emergency and not polishing skills of an team in order to group up and defend territory?

Reply

dungenessmaster August 21 2011, 00:52:58 UTC
It's both. Self-defense for the people who are content to sit around on their asses all day for whatever dumb reason, and training for the people who actually take missions and want to go on the offensive.

[he's sort of sorry Kei missed Operation: Arizona now. he probably would've had fun. that is, if his fighting skill matches his mouth at all.]

[Smiles] [He is satisfied with the explanation] I'll come to the trainings then.

[Oh, don't worry Karkat, Kei sticks is nose into everything]
