Will they even be held long?
[She sincerely doubts it, but she isn't going to argue.]

And they probably won't learn not to be dumbasses, either. [The kid starts to protest, and Mello gives him a look that shuts him up.]

He approached the cheering crowd with a bored expression on his face... until he caught sight of a flashing knife. Then Squalo took a deep breath.]
VOOOII!

She'd made her way over to the crowd in time to hear a loud, voice going...voi? (Did she hear that right?)
Like the rest of the crowd her attention is automatically drawn the source. She didn't recognize the man, but like herself, he appeared to be armed, which meant he was likely to be a member of the Watch.
Unless he wasn't, which could be a problem.]

Fuckin' kids, it's fifteen minutes to the end of my shift, cut that shit out before I cut it out for you.
[The crowd shifted somewhat, leaving the three of them standing in the center of the clearing. Squalo saw the first idiot coming, really. Would have seen him coming in his sleep. Just a stubborn kid drunk off his ass who thought he was something special because he had a knife. Squalo sidestepped him and cracked the knuckles of his right hand.]
VOOOII, I want it on record that I asked politely first.

The fact that she took the time to shoot a disapproving look in Squalo's direction indicated that she didn't really think of the drunks as that much of a threat either. She, in her opinion rather unfortunately, had experience dealing with drunks in the Red Light District.]
There was nothing polite about the way you worded it.

[Squalo turned to Aqua, looking innocent.]
I warned them, didn't I?
[He caught the incoming knife with his left hand, fingers closing quite like a vice on it... and the hand holding said knife.]
I mean, if I were a violent jackass,
[He used the grip to bring the stumbling, cursing man down to his knees, even as he clawed uselessly at the gloved hand.]
I'd beaten them up first and asked questions later, right?

By now the second drunk was also moving for them, but he had picked out Aqua as the easier target.]
There were better ways you could have put it.
[Breaking eye contact to dodge the incoming knife strike with the practised grace of a seasoned fighter. Still, unarmed combat was one of those things she was weaker at, so she really had no choice but to draw her sword. But she only planned to use the handle to knock the drunk out.]
We're supposed to be putting down public disturbances, not escalating them.

[Squalo plucked the knife out of the man's grasp, without letting go. He wasn't breaking anything, really. But that was going to be one hell of a bruise soon enough. He shrugged again.]
I'm making a public service announcement, even. If you're stupid enough to get drunk before six, kindly do so without altering the peace.
[A grin.]
Or then the peace-keepers will alter your ass.

...there are still better ways to put it.
