[She only shrugs in response and stands from her perch atop her culprit, motioning at him to get up and follow with the gun.]

Will they even be held long?

[She sincerely doubts it, but she isn't going to argue.]

Probably not. [Mello shrugs. It's not his problem what happens to them once they're out of his hands.]

And they probably won't learn not to be dumbasses, either. [The kid starts to protest, and Mello gives him a look that shuts him up.]

[CLOSED, Squalo & Aqua] requiem_no_ame August 20 2011, 19:09:39 UTC
[Near the end of his shift, Squalo found himself walking down the streets, watching out for anything unusual but not really paying attention to people, per se. That is, of course, until people made him pay attention. He heard a small commotion in a smaller street in the district, just outside a karaoke bar.

He approached the cheering crowd with a bored expression on his face... until he caught sight of a flashing knife. Then Squalo took a deep breath.]

VOOOII!

I can edit this if it's not okay. Also: SORRY FOR THE LATE. blue_wayfinder August 25 2011, 02:32:07 UTC
[This was not her shift, or her patrol area, but the sound of a commotion automatically grabs Aqua's attention anyway. After all, she was still a member of the Watch regardless of all else.

She'd made her way over to the crowd in time to hear a loud, voice going...voi? (Did she hear that right?)

Like the rest of the crowd her attention is automatically drawn the source. She didn't recognize the man, but like herself, he appeared to be armed, which meant he was likely to be a member of the Watch.

Unless he wasn't, which could be a problem.]

It's okay, don't worry! <3 requiem_no_ame August 25 2011, 13:23:36 UTC
[The scream had the intended effect of stunning and distracting his audience. People were wusses, really. Squalo walked towards the two in the center, who were drunk apparently, and who the fuck was drunk before six? Squalo's most esteemed boss non-withstanding.]

Fuckin' kids, it's fifteen minutes to the end of my shift, cut that shit out before I cut it out for you.

[The crowd shifted somewhat, leaving the three of them standing in the center of the clearing. Squalo saw the first idiot coming, really. Would have seen him coming in his sleep. Just a stubborn kid drunk off his ass who thought he was something special because he had a knife. Squalo sidestepped him and cracked the knuckles of his right hand.]

VOOOII, I want it on record that I asked politely first.

[It was about then that Aqua pushed her way through the crowd and into the clearing.

The fact that she took the time to shoot a disapproving look in Squalo's direction indicated that she didn't really think of the drunks as that much of a threat either. She, in her opinion rather unfortunately, had experience dealing with drunks in the Red Light District.]

There was nothing polite about the way you worded it.

'course there was!

[Squalo turned to Aqua, looking innocent.]

I warned them, didn't I?

[He caught the incoming knife with his left hand, fingers closing quite like a vice on it... and the hand holding said knife.]

I mean, if I were a violent jackass,

[He used the grip to bring the stumbling, cursing man down to his knees, even as he clawed uselessly at the gloved hand.]

I'd beaten them up first and asked questions later, right?

[Have the flattest stare ever, Squalo.

By now the second drunk was also moving for them, but he had picked out Aqua as the easier target.]

There were better ways you could have put it.

[Breaking eye contact to dodge the incoming knife strike with the practised grace of a seasoned fighter. Still, unarmed combat was one of those things she was weaker at, so she really had no choice but to draw her sword. But she only planned to use the handle to knock the drunk out.]

We're supposed to be putting down public disturbances, not escalating them.

I'm most definitely not escalating this.

[Squalo plucked the knife out of the man's grasp, without letting go. He wasn't breaking anything, really. But that was going to be one hell of a bruise soon enough. He shrugged again.]

I'm making a public service announcement, even. If you're stupid enough to get drunk before six, kindly do so without altering the peace.

[A grin.]

Or then the peace-keepers will alter your ass.

I'm sorry this is so late. orz blue_wayfinder September 17 2011, 02:02:03 UTC
[On her end, she struck the second man on the back with the pommel of her sword, between his lack of coordination due to being drunk and gravity, he went down relatively easily.]

...there are still better ways to put it.

[Squalo sniffed disdainfully, as if she had insulted him.]

I happen to prefer efficiency when it comes to my job.
