Description: Training time. This happens every morning, 6am to 9am, but are mostly handwaved. Your character should know about it, one way or another. A log is put up

[ Even if Kasuga was a less than perceptive person she would not need resonation in order to realize that the younger woman had been distracted during training. Though she was hardly one to pry, she took it as her duty as one of her two weapons to support Yuffie in any way she could manage.

Though she keeps a close eye on her (and the man she had been speaking to), Kasuga does not join her immediately, instead allowing herself to train solo. It is not until the man leaves that Kasuga quits what she is doing, moving to Yuffie's side. ] He was not bothering you, I hope.

[wutaisrose]

[She might have known that Kasuga was watching, but Yuffie still gives her a surprised blink as the other approaches.] Not really... [A somewhat vague response, and she looks away with a nervous blush. Her arms raise, one hand grasping the opposing elbow in a feigned stretch as an excuse to hide her face until she can suppress the coloring and face the woman again.]

Did you.. hear anything? [Hesitant, but still playing it off as nothing more than idle conversation.]

[ If Yuffie was trying to act nonchalant, she was doing a terrible job of it. Kasuga had known Yuffie over a month now, having worked with her far longer than she had been her partner and as long as she had known her she had always put so much energy in everything she did.

Though her lips pressed together as she perceived the younger woman, she opted not to pry-- if Yuffie wished to tell her, she would. ] I did not. [ It was the truth and though she could read lips, she had kept herself busy enough that she couldn't follow the conversation completely if she had tried. ] Is he a friend of yours?

[wutaisrose]

[There is no hiding the heavy sigh of relief, Yuffie isn't ready to tell anybody anything just yet. Maybe when she's grown more comfortable with the idea of whatever it was she was supposed to be comfortable with.] Um, kind of.

[She pauses, realizing that isn't quite so convincing of anything either and finally lets out an anxious laugh.]

I know him from my world, so there's some history. [That would be enough for now, right? Shrugging it away, Yuffie casts a suggestive look at Kasuga.] Like you and Sasuke. [DEFLECT.]

[ablushingblade]

I see... [ All the same, Kasuga can't help but to worry. Did the man make her that uncomfortable. And then-- ] I-it is not like that-- [ The kunoichi quickly catches herself before she gets too worked up at the mention of the shinobi. She suddenly blinks as an understanding dawns on her. ] You are from different sides?

[wutaisrose]

[The instant reaction makes her laugh, but she muffles the chuckles with a hand before a short nod.] Yeah, in a way. At first he was a real pain, but Reno's not all that bad anymore. [There's a sort of fondness in her tone, though she wipes the smile away with an irritated snort.] He's still annoying, though! Always making fun of me and stuff.

[She raises a fist, suddenly very determined.] They can't meet, okay? ["They" being Reno and Sarutobi.] It'll be horrible!

[ Kasuga blinks at the way Yuffie so suddenly seems to have all her spirits about her, but she understands completely.] Hmm. I believe I know exactly what you mean. [ Her eyes flit from Yuffie to the direction she had last seen Sasuke go. A rival, yet one that stayed on friendly terms. The taunting, teasing-- all of it, she understood all to well.

A small sound of surprise gets caught in the blonde's throat as she turned back to Yuffie with wide eyes. ] S-surely he cannot be that bad!

[If anyone is going to understand Yuffie, she knows it would be Kasuga. She follows the others gaze, looking for the one she knows is on her mind but ultimately returning her eyes to the sky. Finding him might give him reason to think they want his company as well, and she can't have that right now.]

He is! And with the both of them, it would turn into the Terrible Duo of Doom! [She likes her titles.] I don't think I can handle that, can you?

[ablushingblade]

[ Terrible Duo of Doom? Kasuga blinks at the Meister, her eyes flitting to the previous area and back to her. ] I am afraid one Sarutobi is more than enough.

[wutaisrose]

[There's an energetic jump from her, fists drawn to her chest and a determined look set in her expression.] Right? That's exactly what I'm saying! [Not that she doesn't like him, but more than one Sarutobi to stand would just be exhausting. By themselves she could at least manage to find some entertainment in their company.

Sometimes. When they weren't teasing her, though thank Leviathan it was in different manners. If Sarutobi ever tried what Reno did... Yuffie catches the growing blush before it can get worse and abruptly turns away from the blond again.] You have to promise if they start to get close to one another, you'll distract them, okay?

[ablushingblade]

[ If Sarutobi ever tried what Reno did, he would be dead. If Kasuga knew what Reno tried to do, he might also find himself dead. As it were, Kasuga was fiercely protective of those she actually let get close enough to and Yuffie was already proving to be one of those.

The kunoichi blinked as the younger one turned away again. Hadn't she been so energetic just seconds before...? ] I do not know how much good I will be against such men... [ She trails off, the corners of her lips twitching. Is it possible that the woman is teasing in her own way? ] ... But I will do my best. This man, tell me more about him.

[wutaisrose]

[Yuffie sighs a little, holding a hand to her face to just groan into her palm. Really, the other ninja has no idea of the power she has against the entire male species, does she?] It wouldn't be that difficult. [Just a little flash here or there and the situation would be stopped in its place!]

Reno is... [She falls silent for a few seconds, tilting her head thoughtfully at the sky. It's kind of hard not to call him a 'bad guy', she's been so used to the idea of hating anything Shin-Ra related. Except now... Her cheeks brighten in color for the umpteenth and Yuffie's glad she's not facing Kasuga.] He's a Turk. Um, the guys that do the dirty work for a bigger company. [She has to keep in mind that not everybody knows who or what Shin-Ra was.] The main thing is protecting their boss, though. He's super loyal, just to the wrong people, you know?

[ablushingblade]

[ Yuffie's display nearly causes Kasuga to blink, raising her eyebrow just barely in confusion. Of course, she was right; Kasuga had no idea just how much sex appeal she truly had, despite how the way she dressed may suggest. ]

Turk... [ She repeats the word, getting a feel for it while committing the word to memory. ] I understand, you fight for different causes. Was that the reason for the tension between the two of you? [ It was a simple question from an observant ninja. ]

[wutaisrose]

[T- Tension... Yuffie visibly flinches at that, very slowly turning back to glance at the other.] Uh... [Eloquent.] Yeah. That... That's what it is. [And not really all that convincing, either. Luckily, Yuffie hurriedly waves it off and puffs up, hands on her hips and standing as tall as she can.] But it's nothing to worry about. If he ever starts causing problems, I can just knock him back down.

[ablushingblade]

[ Kasuga nods. ] Of course. [ She could have left it at that, but something about the way Yuffie had been acting bothered her. There was a brief pause as Kasuga considered her next question. ] Does he make you that uncomfortable?

[wutaisrose]

[The corner of her lips twitch. She really wasn't going to let Yuffie avoid this, was she?] Well, no, not really... [A pause, then Yuffie rubs at the back of her head with a half-grin.] He can be unpredictable, so I just feel better if I'm prepared and... and on my toes, or something.
