Mitsunari watched silently for a while, taking it all in. It was... interesting. This was all interesting. It was essential he find out which one he was, for obvious reasons, but he had no intention of stepping up first.

"..."

So it was only after plenty of others had found what they were that he held up his hand.

You prefer prose, then? I'm cool either way.

It's not Mitsunari's lucky day; the one who waves him over is a surly grey-skinned kid. He looks to be about thirteen and bored out of his odd horned skull.

"All right, hold still so I get a good scan. Fuck, don't you assholes ever stop coming?"

It's the biggest haul of new people Karkat's seen since he got here, and he got sick of playing with the machinery awhile ago. He grumbles as he hits the buttons.

Mitsunari does indeed hold still after walking over, saying nothing as he eyes the machine. If it needs to be done like this, so be it. But his expression speaks volumes about Karkat's appearance, words, and... pretty much just Karkat as a whole.

Nothing in those volumes could be considered positive.

To Mitsunari's eyes this kid could be an oni of some kind, but he certainly doesn't speak or act like any he's ever read about. The way he talks especially grates on Mitsunari, and there are many, many possible things, mostly sarcastic, that he himself could say about them.

Better to hold his tongue and find out what he was first, he told himself.

The look on Mitsunari's face isn't lost on Karkat, who draws his mouth down into more of a scowl in response. Sometimes you don't need words to get 'fuck you' across to somebody. And if this jackass was so mad at having his soul read by a troll, he could damn well have waved him off and waited for someone else.

But anyway. Once the image shows up, Karkat frowns up at it.

"You're a Weapon. In case they didn't make it clear, that means you actually transform your body into some kind of weapon, like a sword or a gun or some weird shit like that."

"It was made perfectly clear."

On the whole, he isn't really surprised. Now all that remains is to find out what specific form he would take. He has his suspicions; it would make sense if he become the weapon he usually wields, after all (and in all honesty the Tessen accompanied him everywhere, even outside of battle, back home; others had said before it might as well be a part of him).

Mitsunari casts another look at Karkat.

"Your assistance in this matter is appreciated," he says. The words are polite enough, but his tone is rather condescending.

Karkat, a low-class member of his species, catches that tone and bares sharky troll teeth at Mitsunari. At least he knew this one wouldn't stick around and try to be his friend.

"Throw your ass down some stairs or ask people on the network how to change. I don't give half a dessicated furbeast corpse what you decide."

Karkat waves him off rudely.

"Now get lost, I have other people to get through here."
