[The video turns on and there’s a slightly familiar face on-screen. While he hasn’t been posting as often as he used to, the people who attended the partnership meet-and-greets should be able to recognize him. Well, if they didn’t, they should pay attention now. Neku looks slightly uncomfortable; PSAs aren’t usually his thing, but he’d wear things for a cause, so what’s a little exposure?]
Hi, the name’s Neku. To the people who've just arrived, welcome to Death City. It might be weird and uncomfortable at first, but trust me, you'll get used to it.
[Cue the slightly uncomfortable silence, but he does look somewhat calmer. He takes a breath and looks intently at the screen.]
I'm sure you all have heard about the Meisters and Weapons thing. Whether you want to fight or not, partnering up with someone does increase increase the chance of surviving attacks.
That said, I do know that a lot of people are looking for partners. There’s a group that’s helping out with trying to get people meet their possible match-up. You might have seen us around during morning training, holding something like a meet-and-greet. Right now, we're trying to get the word out.
[And another moment of silence as he seems to gather his thoughts, glancing aside so he could look at a clipboard. This would be Neku's own hard copy of the list of people who've signed up and, yes, he does have a small sheet of things he has to talk about. Short and concise, Neku. You can do it.]
We're also trying to do something a little different. Namatane’s talked to Shibusen about doing activities to help potential partners get to know each other better. We're talking activities, all expenses paid and varying difficulties to help break the ice. It can be an afternoon at the Death by Pastry, a random mission and stuff like that. We're still hashing out the details, but we've got a general idea.
We're offering three kinds of activities for potential partnerships.
We've got Meet and Greets, where you basically meet up with a number of people with whom you might be able to resonate with. We also have a list of suggested candidates based on your answers on the questionnaire. It's a little rough right now, but we'll refine that list later on. We usually do this during morning training, but if you're not available for that or if you're not comfortable being with a group, just give us the heads' up and we'll figure something out.
The second is all about Challenging Activities. Pairs will be placed under the care of an experienced fighter or trainer to improve teamwork. How the pair is taught will depend on the mentor, but it won't be too extreme.
Lastly, we have Chaperoned Missions. Pairs will be going on a Shibusen-offered mission within the city. It's fairly low-risk and it's just monster extermination, but the chaperones will be there in case something happens.
Right now, we're looking for volunteers to help us with the other activities, to teach and chaperone and stuff.
If anyone's interested in trying this out or got ideas in mind that can help, drop a line and we'll get it all sorted out. We can also be contacted by e-mail. [Have a series of texts in your inbox as he speaks.]
This is my mail address. You can also contact
Namatame or
Yuuri. Sign-ups can be found
here. The form's been modified a bit too, so if the people who're already on it can fill it in, that would be great.
If there are any questions, just ask. Oh, and to those who were at the last meet and greet, some feedback and updates would be appreciated. Anything would do.
