[Hi-no-Moto? That means this message is addressed to him. Although he'd received a briefing on the use of this communication device upon arrival, everything about the bizarre tool was leaps and bounds beyond Kiyomasa's comprehension. He'd spent part of the day listening to the voices that came from it - male voices, female voices, sounds that would cut out, moving pictures and strange words that would seemingly appear from nowhere on the face of the device. It was truly a remarkable thing to behold - but now, he was being summoned by an unfamiliar voice.

Oshu? Masamune - the One-Eyed Dragon? That ill-behaved child was here? Kiyomasa needs more answers, there are so many questions that must be answered. He clicks the first button on his communicator -

"My name is Kato Kiyomasa... I am in servitude to the Tokugawa clan but my loyalty stands beneath the flag of the Toyotomi. You hail from Oshu, beneath the command of the Date?" is what he says but all Kojuurou hears is silence. The button he pressed happened to be the mute.]

[Kiyomasa's brow furrows, hearing Kojuurou's response loud and clear. Did he offend this man in some way? Did he improperly address his Lord?

"My apologies if I have said something incorrect." Though he remains unaware that he's still muted. He rests his hand against the keyboard of his communicator, finger slipping as he continues to speak -

"You are a retainer of the Date clan?" - of course, a muted video is no longer what Kojuurou only sees. There are now large subtitles at the bottom of the feed.]

[The colour suddenly drains from Kiyomasa's face, staring at the screen before him. While the outgoing feed is still a video, the combination of buttons Kiyomasa's palm happened to be mashing turns the image of Kojuurou into a picture of a picture of large cat that seems to be looking longingly at some type of meat bun, as though inquiring if it "can has" the foodstuff.

The dumbstruck tiger is dumbstruck.]

[Realizing that everything he's done up to this point has just made things progressively worse, an idea finally strikes Kiyomasa - it seems almost silly this idea of his but considering circumstances, it just may work to his advantage.

He closes his communicator, causing it to reboot.]

[Okay. He takes a breath of anticipation - things look like they're working for now but if earlier was any indication, he knows how quickly this could sour.]

...Hello? [His voice is a bit uncertain, brows furrowed with uncertainty.]

[For a moment, relief seems to wash over Kiyomasa's face. He can hear the man on the other end and the other man could hear him. It's still going to be a long time before he gets used to this sort of thing but for now, he's figured out how to at least talk. He bows his head a bit before looking back at Kojuurou.]

My apologies for earlier... My knowledge of this tool is limited. [Exceptionally limited.] You are retainer to the Date clan?

[Perhaps a bit too eager to actually be speaking to someone through this device - let alone someone seemingly from his own era - Kiyomasa's palm ends up pressing a few buttons on the keypad again. However, this time, things are a bit less detrimental.

[At least, to Kiyomasa's knowledge, the Date clan was on good terms with the Tokugawa. Even if the Date Masamune he recalls is brash and childish, a familiar name in foreign soil was always a blessing.]
