Attorney General Lisa Madigan is preparing to go before the State Supreme Court to have Blagojevich declared unfit for office. I like her. I don't want her for governor. I want Dan the Man Hynes, but she seems good at her job

The news that I have on while I get ready in the morning says that even if he gets to pick someone, that the Senate can refuse to seat that person. I have no idea how accurate that is b/c I didn't actually see who said it.

It is accurate, and that is what they are planning to do. If we could just get him out of office, we wouldn't have to worry about that. Our state legislature is also planning to change the law so that we need to do a special election instead of allowing the Governor to select the replacement. Our Lieutenant Governor says that's a bad idea because it will take a long time, and the state will be without adequate representation in the Senate. I like the AG's plan to have him declared unfit. I don't doubt that she'll do it, too. She's pretty much waiting for the legislature to see if they will start impeachment proceedings, and to see just how long that will take.

I find myself agreeing with him more lately, too. Kind of like with Ted Kennedy. "Wait a second, he can't say things like that! I don't like him!"
