Oh noes! Where will I get my burnt tasting coffee?!?

Maybe you've noticed I don't care for Star*ucks. All their stores in the U.S. are closing tomorrow for special training. But don't worry about reading the article. The really funny bit is the comments at the bottom. These people need to get a life.

stupidity, coffee

The first thing that went through my mind when I saw that announcement, it being solely for U.S. outlets, I wonderd if it was some kind of Homeland Securitiy Act excercise. Kevlar vest fitting? Everyone issued a 'piece'?

Ha! That would have been better. I can just see wikkidpixie with a kevlar vest under her green apron.:-)

You're right, those comments were a treat! Especially fun watching a political flamewar and kindergarten insults evolve from a discussion about coffee. Nice. ::golf claps::

It doesn't matter what the article is about, the comments will devolve into political flamewars and kindergarten insults. It could be a piece on fashion, or the latest diet craze, or the Auto Show, the mudslinging starts up right away.

Actually...*my* store will be open tomorrow all day and night, because we had our training on Friday before we opened since we just opened up on Saturday. So everyone can come to our place ( ... )

You should read the comments. They can be pretty funny on both sides.

And I think Star*ucks is wasting their money if they're trying to make the coffee taste better, since it's only coming out tasting burned.:-P Maybe there's a reason other companies stop after that first "pop."

No, that ain't comp'ny bushwah, that's the way it is; tell 'em to go look it up. And you're not telling this paisano anything he didn't already know. I lived/worked in Vancouver's Little Italy for seven years and got accustomed to a European full roast long before Howie came to town. In fact, I'm one of the folks who's responsible for your predicament, as the first Starbuck's outside of the Seattle area was right here. Of which I was a regular customer, even finding excuses to wend my way to that end of town for a hit. As to the Little Italy angle, the first SB was on the site of a former Italian-run espresso/latte stand, 'Il Giornale'.

I miss their panini...
