So, you go to the search engine of your choice, and type in "you know you're from [where you're from] when." Then you look over the results to find something actually appropriate, copy it, and put the stuff that applies to you in bold. I put my comments in italics.

It's very long. )

And here I thought snipe hunting was a southern thing.

What means the knee high/4th of July thing?

quiet_dignitea looked it up for me. 217 is part of southern IL. There's another one for the deep south. And 773 is outer Chicago. 779 is the layover in 815.

F*ck that sh*t; I'm from Canada and I haven't sounded out the 's' in Illinois since I as six, thank you very much.

Glad to see you back *HUGS*

I think most people don't pronounce the "s," but there are some who do. I'm not sure if it's a southern thing, or just a let's-annoy-the-FIB (Fucking Illinois Bastard) thing, but I have heard it.

I purposefully mispronounce "Mobile", just to annoy Alabamians. ;)

So it rhymes with "mile"?

I say "Arkansas" like it rhymes with "Kansas." And vice versa.
