(And then she notices the mummified kappa. She jerks backwards, shocked.)

I wish I had pets at home, but I stay in an apartment so there are rules against it.

Still, at least you got some pretty good regains. All I got was this weird heart shaped mirror, and a card with a rock on it. I don't even remember having anything like that back home.

Well, I've no idea where this kappa is supposed to have come from, and I'm not sure there's much good about it either.

So the town sent us things we can't really use, that are supposedly from our world but we're not exactly sure when or where.

Way to go Mayfield.

Yeah, I don't mean to be ungrateful or anything, but if they're going to give us stuff, it'd be nice if it was stuff I actually recognised or can use.

Guess the town is really out to hate us.

Right... I've already got enough nonsense in my life already without the town piling on some more...

It'd be nice... I'd like to get back home sooner rather than later.

Yeah...I miss home too. I mean, I've gotten to know some pretty cool people here, and I got to talk to the Teen Titans, but nothing beats home sweet home.

[sosnarrator]

Right, even if you do find somewhere that's actually better in almost every way, which Mayfield certainly isn't no matter what it purports, it still isn't the same as home.

It's New Years tonight too.

Dad was going to take me to New York, actually. To see the parade and the fireworks. It was supposed to be our first New Year together, after...well, my accident.

[sosnarrator]

Hm? Accident?

[forgotten_titan]

Back home, I was in a coma for almost half a year because I got involved with some accident. According to Dad, someone sent me flying with a car. The doctors told Dad that I was brain dead, but he...he didn't give up on me.

Sure enough, I woke up six months later.

But I didn't remember anything. Not my name, not my family, not my life...nothing. Everything prior to that accident was just completely gone.

[sosnarrator]

Flying with a car, huh? Sounds pretty bad. I supposedly fell down some stairs and spent three days in a coma once, but that's nothing compared to that.

[forgotten_titan]

Yeah. It's probably a good thing I don't remember it much. Just...a whole lotta lights, and the car must've hit something and exploded, because I can sort of remember some fire...

(She shakes her head.)

I'm probably lucky I didn't die. I've actually got some scars, but ever since I've been here, they've disappeared.
