Jessica was born and raised in California. She moved to Korea when she was 11 for training. She released 2 singles alongside with Seohyun and Tiffany: "오빠 나빠" ("Bad Oppa") and "Mabinogi (It's Fantastic!)". Jessica also stars in Jo Han Kim's music video "Love is Late, I'm Sorry".
Jessica is the group's reigning Ice Princess, because of her frosty/cold appearance; in the 2nd ep of their Girls Go To School show, Heechul basically said she was the female version of him (@ 7:10). He says there hasn't been anyone like him so far, and Kangin warns her Heechul's trying to instil his character into her (SuShi interactions are awesome). In a later ep of the same show, she asked that people not judge her by her bitch!face. Fan opinion? bitch!face FTW. I've often seen nooBs be all "WTF this girl's a bitch, and her fans are actually proud of this?" Two points, dear nooBs.
#1 - Her bitch!face is awesome. Its hysterical.
#2 - She isn't actually a bitch.
You can see why someone would think she's icy, especially when she's being a sexy model.
When she pulls bitch!face it rocks, but this girl also knows how to cute. She'll aegyo, even if she thinks its weak. I think she's dead wrong, and her voice is naturally aegyofied. (< that vid is ridiculously addictive. Da da da~ Aha ). Got it yet? Cute cute cute!. Aha.
She also works the angelic image. She works any image; fans also call her gorjess, and sexica. You'll hear those names a lot. A few short fanvids later, you'll see Sica in awesome motion.
She's not just a pretty face, either. After leader, she's probably the best singer in the group and she'll look lovely while doing it. I think her voice in this cover of Kiss' Because I'm a Girl shows off her voice particularly well. She's good. Also, she grew up in America, so her English is perfect; she's sung songs like Mandy Moore's Stupid Cupid, Mariah Carey's Hero and I Love Rock and Roll. There's a stronger, less cutesy feel to her voice when she sings in English.

The Sica Effect is win; people will be talking and then she'll say something that makes everybody just stop and fall silent. You can see it in action in GGTS. In this particular clip, its more the feeling of 'cold'. I didn't feel it so much in this clip, but the GGTS one was classic.
Random Sica fun: you can see her in the background here, checking out her ass, and being all surprised when their song suddenly started playing. She's also Soshi's resident sleeper. Girl sleeps a lot, as observable in both the girls' reality shows, Girls Go To School and Factory Girl. In fact, her sleeping comment caused the Sica Effect in GGTS. Also in those shows, you can see her reading English books; in GGTS she was sleeping with Sophie Kinsella's Can You Keep a Secret? over her face. Its a really funny book, cute. However, this doesn't mean she only reads girly stuff. Books like the Kite Runner, Atonement have also been spotted on her shelves. Also, I have no clue where I heard this, but apparently she reviewed Flowers for Algernon, on radio if I'm not mistaken. Well rounded kid, Sica.
She's also one half of Soshi's Royal Couple, YulSic aka Yuri/Jessica. Legend.
