For you, whom I love

For you, whom I love, I wish to escape. Escape this world of predetermined destinies and simply run and run with your hand in mine. For you, whom I love, I wish to love, hold, and kiss you for all of eternity. For you, whom I love, will you love me too?
Was inspired the minute I heard LIGHTS' song, Up Up And Away. It's so beautiful and innocent, and I immediately felt like writing again. This is uh, based on one of the prompts from
shawol_haven, and I'm going to see if it can still be entered. If not...well, at least I wrote something. Please check endnotes if you want to know about the status of Only More Human
Oranges begin to mix in with the yellows and pale reds as the sun creeps down the horizon, light glowing upon the mighty land. Shadows lurk and wait as they wait for their transformation, morphing from bright to mellow. Flowers begin to weary down as their day job of looking beautiful fade away, and the birds land into their nests to sleep away, sounds of the lively and cheerful day cascading into one of relaxation.
However, this evening was not one of relaxation, not one bit. In the distance, there lies a hill with a mighty castle standing on its cap. A grand castle it is, where the finest family of all of Seoul inhabits - the Lee family. Notable for their lineage of successful politicians and doctors, they have yet to disappoint the fellow citizens of Seoul…yet.
Horns and sirens blared, shouts and screams of guards echoed in the premise of the looming castle. One could hear the scattering sound of feet across the graveled pavement, could hear how frantic they were as they ran all around. In the doorway of the castle were two figures - one woman, and one man. One had their head buried in their palms as their shoulders shook and vibrated, while the other was gripping their fist into a pained ball.
Hushed whispers and rushed sprinting. Hand in hand, two males winded through the labyrinth of the courtyard, ducking into a bush when they heard a pair of guards nearing. Their hearts beat in sync, hands gripping one another in assurance of one another. They held their breaths as the guards passed by.
They sighed in relief as they went unnoticed, until they looked at each other and grinned. The smaller one of the two leaned onto the latter’s shoulder, rubbing against it just so.
“Are you sure you want to go through this, Taemin-ah?” The elder whispered, his hand wandering into Taemin’s hair and massaging it slightly. There was a period of silence and contemplation, the feeling of second thoughts slowly creeping into Taemin’s heart. He shook it away, and buried himself into Minho’s chest, saddling the other’s legs while doing so.
“Of course I do…Whatever it takes to be with you, I don’t care,” Taemin murmured, resting his forehead against Minho’s. They drank in one another’s presence, puffs of oxygen clouding them both as they breathed in the crisp February air. Taemin leaned in just so, placing his lips softly onto the elder’s and kissing him sweetly with all the love he could describe. Minho could feel a smile growing on his face, pressing against Taemin’s lips. He felt his hand move on its own, caressing the other’s cheek ever so softly, as though it were glass, the finest and most fragile glass in the entire world. “I didn’t want to be a doctor anyway, so I don’t mind,” Taemin said silently.
“Is it okay like this? You’ll lose your position as head guard, you know,” Taemin continued, wearing a concerned expression on his face. Minho laughed softly, pecking the other’s lips teasingly.
“We’ll start anew. We’ll hide in the center of the city, you can live with me, and we can forget that castle, forget your past, and start a new life with me. We’ll go into downtown and shop together, eat together, and do so much more. That’s what you want, isn’t it?”
“Of course it is, I -” Taemin was interrupted when they heard water splashing into the distance. The both of them looked up, watching the courtyard’s vast fountain turn on, the evening now cascading into twilight, the moon glowing ever so mystically onto the water’s surface. The jet sprayed its gallons of water, colored variously by the lights inside the water. The two looked at each other again, hands finding each other and entangling in one another. The moment was too perfect, way too good to pass up as they leaned in for one more kiss.
“Hey, let’s try looking around the fountain!” A yell echoed. The kiss broke violently, and with their hands still connected, they made their mad dash towards freedom.
Swirling around flower beds, ducking into crevices of bushes, they did what they could to mask themselves from the guards. Night fell harder and darker as time progressed, making their journey easy to go through. Every once and a while did they have to hide in one of the vegetations to avoid being discovered by one of the guards.
“We’re nearing the back entrance, we’re almost there Taemin-ah,” Minho whispered as they got out from hiding and began dashing once more.
Their hearts raced, their breaths growing more irregular as their pace increased. More and more did the distance decrease. The gnawing thought of being discovered slowly disintegrated as their goal was nearing closer and closer. They didn’t even have to look at each other to know that, yes, this was it - the doorway to the future, they were almost there.
Minho kicked against the metal-fenced gate, realizing that they needed a key in order to unlock it. With a couple more kicks, the aged lock finally gave and the gate swung open to the outside world, a world with no expectations or pre-determined futures.
Taemin was shocked to see what looked like a hay truck waiting for them patiently just outside the gate. He saw a young-looking male pop his head out the driver’s window.
“Transportation for two?” He said in a jokingly manner. The male pointed to the back of the truck, semi-cleared of hay.
“Thanks Jonghyun for doing this, I really appreciate it.” Minho said, climbing onto the back and offering his hand for Taemin.
“No problem, still owe you for that one time I ‘trespassed’ this stupid grounds. I’m glad you’re leaving this place…the both of you.” Jonghyun replied, ducking back into the driver’s compartment and starting up the truck.
It may have reeked of dry hay and manure, and the seating beneath them was unbearably uncomfortable with its wood structure, but watching the castle grow smaller as they made their way down the hill and having their hands still attached made it all the more bearable.
Taemin leaned against Minho, fluttering his eyes shut as he felt himself whisper Minho’s name. The elder hummed, thumb rubbing against Taemin’s pale skin. Taemin stretched as much as he could; only managing to peck Minho’s neck, “Minho…I love you.”
The castle was a mere speck now, the darkness enshrouding them as no streetlamps were in sight, no one to see Minho grab Taemin and kiss him with all of his might, no one to hear his hushed reply of “I love you too, so much…”
No one to interfere with whom they loved.

Okay first off, I want to apologize to those who are waiting for the last chapter of Only More Human. The day after I posted the second chapter, I got the worst flu of my life which caused me to spiral out of my writing spirit. It took a few weeks to recover, and when I got better I had the hugest writer's block of my life. Only today did I get my spirit back, so hopefully it'll be up in a day or two I hope. God, I'm so worthless, I can't even finish a three-chaptered fic ;____;
ANYWAYS, this was written in the spur of the moment, so pardon me if there's any grammatical mistakes or something. If this makes it into Challenge 009 and you enjoyed reading this, please vote for me at
