Oh, wow, this is awesome. Jo's POV really worked here. I liked the idea that Ellen thought people were stupid to get involved with hunting, that rings very true. And girl!Sam AU aspect of it made the whole thing work. I really enjoyed this, thanks for writing!

Thanks! I think that, once upon a time, Ellen may have even approved of hunting, but either way, losing her husband to the job would sort of sour her opinion of the whole thing, and she certainly wants her daughter well away from it.

Thank you! I always have trouble with the warnings for these sort of things, though... Do I say het, or slash, or both? It's very confusing.

I like this a lot! Great characterisation. I especially loved your Ellen, who is one of my favourite characters ever. I thought the way you brought out the differences produced by Sam being a girl rang very true to life.

Thanks! I wouldn't say that Ellen is my favorite character by any stretch- she seems to rigid and inflexible, admittedly with reason, which is a trait that I have a hard time enjoying in a character. I'm glad I did her justice, though.
