Another snippet from the Battlefields series. Set sometime after Present Imperfect, and doesn't really fit the rest of the tone of the series, but I couldn't just get rid of it.

Ah. Nice. I *like* Teyla, and she definitely had the possibility of becoming the too-perfect, too-good 'pretty alien woman' that would give them little yoda-like speeches and crap, but she didn't.
So - yay!

Poor John. I hope he's happy.

Yeah, I love Teyla. She's the only one on that team that's not crazy, and she keeps the rest of them balanced, but she's not without her own darknesses and problems. And you have to love her for that.

And yes, JOhn is pretty happy. He'll eventually be a lot happier, and someday I will actually sit down and finish writing all of the stories in this series instead of screwing around with snippet stuff, and then you will see what I mean.

This is really beautiful.

Also I wanted to say how great it would be, in case you were still thinking about it, to see more of this verse.

I have a special place in my heart for Rodney when he is confident in himself outside of the labs. I'd love to know more about how that came to be. And to see John adapting to the changes after his return.

No pressure, I only wanted you to know that the other parts you mentioned would still be received with great enthusiasm.

Thank you so much! I am really glad to hear you enjoyed this, but the problem is... well, basically, the problem is I wrote almost all of the prequel, and then most of it got eaten during a laptop change, and I just don't have the heart to go back and redo it. Maybe someday I will have the time and energy to finish this properly, but in the meantime this will have stay as it is. I'm glad you liked what there is, though!
