Nikki surveyed the pockmarked surface in dismay. "Are you serious with this?" She turned to Liz, incredulous.

"What?"

"Did you seriously pick all of the cookie dough out of this ice cream? It's just a pint of vanilla now."

Liz wavered between guilt and amusement. "I have a weakness!" she said. "I couldn't help it."

"You're addicted to cookie dough," Nikki said dryly.

"I'm glad you understand," Liz said with a relieved smile. Nikki snorted.

"But listen." Liz leaned in, voice gone low. "There's more cookie dough if you just dig down. And I promise, I know how to share."
